Has anybody ever tried one of the 200/50 rear tires? I actually ride a 180/55 because it corners better, but I bet the 200/50 looks awesome.:rock

It doesn't really look much bigger than the 190, but it is much more stable mid-corner (and on the rear wheel). It fits fine, it never rubs, even at high speeds. IndyRXTC 04-22-2002, 04:33 PM The 190 on the back of the 00 and 01 R1 looks wider than any other 190 I have seen on a bike.........even the 02
Craig:eek:
I am thinkin of the 200 though..:) R1Madness 04-22-2002, 04:52 PM yes it does fit just fine....about mid corner TRUE, at the time when i had 200/50 Dunlop on mine i went for a little spin around industrial twisties with my buddies i had a spare helmet hangin on left side...anyways there was this corner, tight, about 120 degres with just a lil bit dust .....well i went in too fast ( i scared the shit out of myself) but i decided to go further and lean to get through that damn corner. I the midle of a corner my tire slid out on me.....my spare helmet touched the ground and front pegs folded up ....... and so on...I didn't crash ........ i saved it when i got to gas station a looked at my rear tire.....my chicken strips were gone, i went a lil bit over the edge on 200/50 tire.
About looks: it doesn't look much wider that 190, but u can tell that it's bigger .....right now i have 180/55 BT -010 Robert R1 04-23-2002, 12:26 AM A 200 rear tire is strictly for posing. With a 200 rear, you get a slow turning bike that will squirm when cranked over and plus the traction and feedback will be pitiful compared to a 180. Then again, since you are considering a 200, none of the above actually matters to you anyway:) SETITOFF 05-17-2003, 08:49 AM peanut butter JELLY...
peanut butter JELLY!!
hahaha.
i dont know what the hell i'm gonna get.
190/55 one day i think?
SETITOFF ARWUN 05-20-2003, 05:49 AM A 200 will fit just fine. I have a Dunlop 207 that still has more than half its life left, if your interested... I can send it to you. Happy 05-20-2003, 05:56 AM ive used a 200 on mine
handles like shit:fact VinR1 05-31-2003, 06:22 PM easier to hold a wheeie... ;) 02R1guy 05-31-2003, 06:30 PM Originally posted by IndyR1

posers suck :machinegu :machinegu :machinegu lil R! 06-08-2003, 04:58 PM I have one but again there are no turns down in this part of the nation. My favorite is the I-75 to 595 exit entrance ramps, evilR1 06-09-2003, 12:01 AM i have a Pirelli
but it was for shows only- looks nice and wide
but i would not want to hit the street with it joe_bear60 06-11-2003, 09:49 PM Here's a little insight for you fellas, you really think it will handle like shit?:bs It's an R1 for crying out loud. I just put a 200 on mine and it leans farther and carries corners quicker. Mr Evil 06-11-2003, 10:00 PM The standard dunlop measures in at about 197 when fitted. So the difference would only be marginal. After switching to a 180/55 myself I'd never stick a 190 let alone a 200 back on the thing. eddy2000k 06-11-2003, 10:07 PM got one on mine right now!
Yes you do turn slower, Its also intimadating a few of my friends will not go any lower then a 190 for the fact that it makes the R1 look like a R6! i dont mind it but I avoid riding hard on it, the 180 does work alot better riding hard. I never new so many members had 200! biffa 06-12-2003, 05:33 AM The stock Dunlop 207 on my 00 MY R1 was 200 wide fitted. But then I have a 207RR on now and that's only 180. Both tyres were badged as 190/50 width. Figure that one out. MegatronR1 06-12-2003, 06:06 AM Originally posted by eddy2000k

yes, i put a 200 on for the first 3 tires after factory and then tried a 190
the 200's handled like SHIT compared to the 190
i didnt realize what i was missing
and i didnt notice any difference in the wheelie factor either
wheelies are just as easy on a 190 imo | |
