Teknic Speedstar II gloves..................

After going through more than a few pairs of gloves and searching for the right pair, I have stumbled upon the Coup de Gras of gloves. When you recieve them ( Thanks Kneedraggers ) the first thing that sets them out is the packaging. Teknic includes a clear rectangular zip open pouch that holds the glove inside. Once open the smell of new leather oozes from inside as you witness quality that you'd expect from Dainese, Held or Alpinestars. Pulling a glove is a new experience for those used to slipping into new "Leather" gloves because the body of the glove is made of Keprotech instead of leather with generous portions of leather on the fingers, gauntlet and the top of the hand. Protective carbon inserts at all the right places and a carbon matrix composite on the heels of the hand. I must admit that I was so happy with the glove and it's fit that I drove to get gas in my truck wearing them. Initial fit though tight was an easy break in seeing as the gloves were already conformed to my hand in less than 5 min driving the truck. ( No helmet:D ) On a scale of 1-10 I give a first impression of 10 for this glove. Go get u some too.

UPS just dropped these off for me and here are some first impression: Like Solidus said, the non-leather body of the gloves are quite nice. Hopefully they'll hold up as well as leather - suppose to be. The initial fit is tight but I'm sure they'll break in soon. I don't like their stitching on the inside cause I can feel them rubbing a little. I sold my AS GP Plus to a friend cause its narrow gauntlet opening made if difficult to fit over my thick leathers. I wear SM so that didn't help. But overall, I don't think the attention to detail of these Tecknic are a match for AS. Very close - but not quite at that level. I'll see how these turn out after a couple of rides. They do look nice though...

PDo, You might wanna check on the guantlett fit over your leather because mine is a tight fit. I can close the guantlet but it's really a chore. But it may be because I have some pretty thick forearms. Also my suit is a teknic speedstar with neoprene at the wrist.

yeah, they're pretty snug. but a little better than the gp plus i had to sell. i'm wondering 'bout the stitching and the keprotech/kevlar body. how have they held up for you? does that material soften up and stretches once you break them in - like leather?
