Vegas (next week)

Heya, I didnt see anything recent on the Vegas thing so i figured id start a new thread... What are the latest plans for Vegas ? Myself and a guy (mabye 2) from work are all set to ride, is the meet up there on the 15 still a go ? Who is riding and who is truck / trailering ? just curious to see if anyone else riding up wants to meet up along the way more than anything else.

Hey there Hyfi, Yup, to my understanding it's still a go to meet at I-15 & CA-138 at 2 pm on Friday the 13th. Personally I will have my R1 in the back of my pickup because I know I can't handle riding it on freeways that far. :2bitchsla But I will be there. Plans are still the same. Meet around 2 Oclock on Friday at HWY 138 and HWY 15

Leaving Friday morning. But can't meet up with everyone on the way. Wife and sis-in-law coming along. Which means stopping at every place along the way. I should be at Texas Station by 3-4 PM. I'll be in a red F150 towing a 5X8 enclosed trailer.

I'm trucking my bike (if I get it back in time from the shop) friday after work (6pm). Got no place to stay yet. I will be leaving out of Valley Center, CA. right after work.

I might be riding as well, unless you have a truck to tow my trailer. I'm also gonna need a place to stay if anyone has room. I was going to share with GNYHUF but he had to transfer to Va. early.

If u have a sleeping bag u can stay with me, I got a room, but it has one bed only.

I've got 5 in my group from Oklahoma. We are trailering.

I have a room that I *THINK* has 2 beds cause my roommate and I were gonna share the room. But he's not going, so someone can share the room with me (as long as there's 2 beds... I've shared a bed with a guy before, but it was a guy I'd grown up with and knew really well.. not some stranger that might molest me in the middle of the night :ugh ) Just be forwarned, I HAVE to fall asleep to the TV! :yesnod

I think I'm riding! ... I also need to find a place to stay in Vegas! Not sure if you heard or not but I got robbed on all my money! I'll make it to LV no problem, but ... a hotel is too much for me.

I and the guys from SD coming with me are riding, we will meet whoever at 2 on friday that wants to meet up on the 15

Here is an update to where we will be meeting. The meeting spot has been changed to 15 and Victorville/Palmdale Rd. Once you get on 15 exit on the Palmdale Rd and make left. There is a mobile gas station on right hand side. We will meet everyone there at 2. So what I need is everyone's name that WILL meet us there so we can wait for you and not leave until you get there. My number is 818-517-3996. If for some reason on Friday you found out that you can't get there, give me a call and let me know so we know not to wait for you. So once again, the meeting spot has been changed to 15 and Palmdale Rd. If anyone has any questions, let me know.

What's to be confused about? That's what everyone decided. If you disagree, talk to everyone else and change it. Doesn't make a difference to me.

I'm just giving you a hard time cause everyone knew to meet at 15 & 138, now it's 15 & palmdale. I don't care. I'll meet anywhere.

I'll be there around 2 pm, just like we spoke about yesterday. I put your number into my cell so if I'm running late or have a problem finding it, I'll give ya a shout. I think it'll take me about 1.5 hrs to get up there from my recollection...but we'll see. I'll try to leave early enough.

Here is the map of the location for us to meet. The only thing that has changed from the previous meeting spot is that now it's furthur down. The reason for this is that some people are coming from LA and SFV area which mean they will take the 14 to Pearblossom Palmdale rout. If we had the original meeting spot, we had to back track back to 138 which doesn't make sense. Still if you are not clear about, please contact me for more info. On the 15 Exit Palmdale Rd (HWY 18) and make left, There is a gas station immediatley to your right.

Hey Gents, I just got back in town from a work related trip and I just got dumped on with a lot of problems, both at work and at home so I won't be able to go to Vegas :( . :cryin I'm still looking for a way to swing it but it doesn't look good. It's all just a part of the price you have to pay to be in the military. Have a good time, take lots of pictures, and I'll see you all later for the track day or July's ride.

are we going to be going on any real rides? I am not planning on bringing my leathers but i would if we are going to do some serius riding. thoughts? xt777

No problem MX. I'm trucking my bike, so it's not a problem to bring it, but if I want to use it while we are on Saturday's ride or something, I have to wear a backpack and I really hate that. So, I don't know if I'll bring it on the ride, but i'm sure I'll bring it up with me. Already have it ready to go anyway. However, my digital camera I can fit in the trunk of the bike, so I'll take it with me and when we stop and such, I'll just pull it out to take pics or what not. That's the easy part. LOL Also, XT777, I'm not sure what all you mean by serious riding. I don't know if they are going to do any serious twisties/track type stuff or not to be honest. I thought they mentioned a Hoover Dam ride and such, but I don't know how serious it will get since I've never ridden it before. However, it never hurts to wear your leathers on a ride. I just wish I had a pair of leather pants. That's my next "mod" after tires.

FFFFF*****CKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! I got to the Victorville meeting spot and my freakin radiator in my truck took a dump. I'm soooo pissed. Ended up having to turn around and come home. Woudln't have made it to Vegas. Damn it. Hey there MX, I don't know what happened last night (Sat night). I did ride back up Friday night on my bike. I got into Vegas at my parent's house around 1 am. Ended up talking to Ray (Rezar) at 10 am Saturday morning. You guys were already out on a ride yesterday morning. Then I rode with Ray and 2 other guys (Hify & his friend) out to Hoover Dam and that was cool. However, they then said they were just going back to their hotel and then going out later that night. I said to just give me a shout on my cell phone and I would show up wherever they decided to go. Well, I got no call back yesterday (Sat) or today (Sun), so I just figured they didn't want me around. So, I'm still here in Vegas, but not leaving till tomorrow (Monday) morning so I don't have to deal with the usual Sunday traffic. So, unfortunately I never met any of the other R1 guys from across the country cuz I couldn't make it to the Friday night BBQ and heard nothing from anyone Sat or Sun. So, I came up for nothing really (except the ride to Hoover Dam was cool though). Kinda stinks, but that's the way it goes I guess. Next time I'll stay where everyone is staying so I'll know what is going on. Oh ya, one other suggestion to everyone...have this thing in January or something next time. It's way too damn hot here in June (Vegas). Anyway, chat with you guys later... Mat

UGH!!! Reza didn't mention anything to me about you being in Vegas. You should have just come over to the hotel and hung out. One thing I learned right away in Vegas was that if you're not there when everyone wants to go, you're not getting a call and you're getting left. Sorry about that. This whole thing was just a big mess right from the start. I was supposed to stay until Monday, but the only 10 people at the hotel were all leaving, so I wasn't about to stay and ride home alone. It was HELLA HOT! January wouldn't be good, it gets hella cold in Vegas at night in January and that would make it hard for the long distance travelers to make it.... T-Pole hit snow and sleet as it was on his way out. May or October would be the best times for Vegas. I'm creating a Poll (or two) for the next "Convention" in the Events forum, so go look for it and vote so the next one will go off without a hitch.

UGH, Sorry you didnt get a call, We pretty much just made things up as we went along. We ended up just riding down to the strip and hanging out there saturday night (mostly at the luxor) and taking off the next morning once we were concious enough to ride home. The whole thing was a good time, but very unorganized. I would have liked to get out more on the bike but then again it was as you said HOT HOT HOT.

R1-Demon Actually I did call you at around 7:00 when Hyfi called me and went straight your voice mail. But you could of called yourself as well and see what we were doing. We are all adults here and the notion of us not wanting you around is kind of…… well I just leave at that. To Everyone else: I was neither the organizer nor the person in charge, so it wasn't my responsibility to keep track of people. I tried my best to get everyone together, but everyone wanted to do different things. One person wanted to go gamble while another wanted to go riding. At the end I just said F it. If someone wants to hang out with me they can let me know themselves. I wasn't about keep asking people every other minute as to what they wanted to do.

Rezar, I wasn't trying to say anything bad man...honest. I know you weren't the organizer or anything and you were nice enough to keep in touch with me. I just didn't know what went on is all. I did't know my cell went to voicemail because it was on and I did keep checking it. Only reason I didn't call is because I didn't want to bug you. I'm sorry...I'm just like that. I try not to bother people. I didn't mean ANYTHING bad when I posted. Honest. I don't want any bad feelings coming out of any of this. I wasn't upset at all. I just didn't know what was going on. It's all good and no big deal. Like everyone is saying, it was disorganized to say the least, but that wasn't by the fault of anyone here in our squadron because we didn't set it up. Anyway, I'm sorry what I wrote looked bad because that honestly wasn't the intention. You were doing your best to keep me/us informed and that was cool and I honestly appreciate it. I'm sorry if what I wrote sounded like I was being a d*ck and saying that I was all ticked off cuz you didn't call. Yes, I could have called, but I just didn't want to be a nuisance is all. I hope everything is all good. My intentions were NOT to tick anyone off.

definitly not trying to point any fingers at anyone, the lack of organization was just a hickup as far as i am concerned. It was still a good time and i would do it all again, although my A$$ is still sore from the ride home !!
