I have never attempted this. Does anyone do this? Ive heard a couple people talking about this and im wondering. They were talking in context to wheelies.
Wont that damage your bike? Is it a smooth shift? Is there any specific rpm you need to do it in?

Clutchless shifting is actually similar to what a clutch does. As long as you take pressure off the drivetrain by chopping the throttle to shift, you shouldn't have any problems. I'm sure in the long run it's not as good for the bike as using the clutch, but as long as it's a smooth, quick shift, it doesn't damage anything. ***DON'T TRY TO DOWNSHIFT THIS WAY!!!*** If you were unfortunate enough for your clutch to go out in the middle of nowhere, then you could possibly match revs to downshift. It is very difficult and extremely hard on the tranny. I should know, that happened to me. When I changed the oil the next time......HELLO METAL SHAVINGS! To be safe, don't get lazy and pull that clutch lever. :thumbup

Ricardo,
The only thing I can say is DONT DOWNSHIFT!! People say it's ok, but as turtlenek said, it will only cause problems. If you are racing it will be faster to use the clutch, and you will not miss any shifts.
One thing to do is when you are at 3/4 to full throttle, lift up on the shifter (while racing of course) then when you need to shift just give the clutch lever a little pop in and the bike will shift. The bike will not shift if you are on the throttle. Be sure to let go of the shifter completely before shifting to another gear this way. Try it out and let us know what you think.

When I wheelie i do clutchless shifting. Never when I'm riding like normal.
