I had the ONE out for the first significant ride since I picked it up in May........its been raining for like a month in a half here!!! Went down for the Puerto Rican Day Parade.
I noticed while I was riding that my gloves were literally sticking to the grips! I had to PULL my hands off the grips like they were stuck with glue. By the end of the day my nice new Harris Performance Grips were covered in this black gum like crap. The gloves are AlpineStars - carbon something or other. Man I was burnt!!
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to get that black gum off my grips? I need a new pair of gloves....any suggestions?
Thanks!!

No not those. They're leather - carbon ...something I have to look at them - but I've had them for a while. I got them when I got my '99 TLR1000.

It may be residual glue you used to put the grips on or oil or something. But I just got this pair of Teknic speedstar gloves from kneedraggers. The body of the glove is made of Kevlar Keprotech stretch material and covered in spots with leather. Really comfy and looks very protective. I can actually type in them now on the pc. They broke in inside of an hour and cost less than 160.00 shipped. I have pretty good faith in the teknic gloves, because I crashed in a pair of the old speedstar I gloves and they still look like new, just a few teeny scuffs. Here's a pic, really good construction.

I was actually thinking about some tek's. Yours are nice looking. I got kinda overwhelmed though - looking at gloves. So many to choose from and the prices range from a little to a WHOLE lot. I just want them comfortable with exceptional protection.
But you think it might not be my gloves? I tried using some wd40 to get the black glue off my grips - didn't work.:crash
Asianmafia also suggested some goo off so I'll try that next.

Man , don't skimp on your gloves whatever you do. I actually saw the bones in a guy's fingertips after he lowsided at poincianna with a pair of those 45.00 Joe Rocket gloves on. The palm came open at the base of his thumb and he was hurtin for certain. These speedstar2's are the most comfy glove I've worn yet due to the Kelvlar, and the leather is Kangaroo skin. Go to a dealer with them in stock and try a pair on, you'll see what I'm talkin about. I can literally type with them on.
