Personally, I'm rather impressed with Metz Rennsports. I changed down to a 180 at the same time as well.

Go for good grip. I used Rennsport in the rear and Pilot Sport in the front. The pilot sport wears down really fast. So does Rennsport. If you prefer to cruise. go for a harder tire. I got Macadam 100 on right now (front) to see how well it perform.

I use Pirelli Dragon Supercorsas (sc1 front & sc2 rear) and I am well happy with them! Rennsports are identical apparently - Jim Moodie used pirellis & rennsports when he won the UK 600 championshiop & couldn't tell the difference - so I dont know how bike journos can!

Pick up a copy of the latest Cycle World (I think). It gives a pretty good review of the tires out there.

Depending on what your going to be using the tires for: My personal preference are: Street: -Bridgestone BT-01's -Dunlop 208 Race take-offs Race: -Dunlop 208GPs As others have mentioned if you want better performance, jump to the 180 rear instead of the oem 190s.

why does the 180 rear give better performance? Also, what is the best place to get the tire from?

why does the 180 rear give better performance? Also, what is the best place to get the tire from? The 180 offers quicker turn in because it has a higher profile. Do it. You will like it. The only thing bad thing is you will lose some pose value with a smaller tire. The real riders will know what’s up. It is my favorite mod. Erik S.

The tire review is in the latest issue of Sport Rider magazine. They gave the Sportec M1 really high marks, and everyone I know who has 'em raves about their performance.

180 rear also puts a larger contact patch on the road,as a result of the shape & structure of the wall, check what profile Bayliss & his mates use in WSB! if it's good enough for him,it's good enough for me!:boobies
