TiresTomLeeR1 04-23-2002, 02:27 AM I'm looking to buy some tires but I just dont know what kind is good. Anyone? Mark Wilkes 04-23-2002, 03:20 AM Personally, I'm rather impressed with Metz Rennsports. I changed down to a 180 at the same time as well. Swedie 04-23-2002, 03:58 AM Go for good grip.
I used Rennsport in the rear and Pilot Sport in the front. The pilot sport wears down really fast. So does Rennsport.
If you prefer to cruise. go for a harder tire.
I got Macadam 100 on right now (front) to see how well it perform. Liam 04-26-2002, 04:36 PM I use Pirelli Dragon Supercorsas (sc1 front & sc2 rear) and I am well happy with them! Rennsports are identical apparently - Jim Moodie used pirellis & rennsports when he won the UK 600 championshiop & couldn't tell the difference - so I dont know how bike journos can! kneedragonr1 05-03-2002, 10:03 AM Pick up a copy of the latest Cycle World (I think). It gives a pretty good review of the tires out there. kreationzx 05-05-2002, 08:20 PM Depending on what your going to be using the tires for:
My personal preference are:
Street:
-Bridgestone BT-01's
-Dunlop 208 Race take-offs
Race:
-Dunlop 208GPs
As others have mentioned if you want better performance, jump to the 180 rear instead of the oem 190s. 00redr1 05-06-2002, 09:17 AM why does the 180 rear give better performance? Also, what is the best place to get the tire from? Champz#359 05-06-2002, 09:51 AM I've got a super corsa sc1 front & Rennsport rear, must be our british roads as to why they're so popular!:butt kneedragonr1 05-06-2002, 11:02 AM why does the 180 rear give better performance? The 180 offers quicker turn in because it has a higher profile. Do it. You will like it. The only thing bad thing is you will lose some pose value with a smaller tire. The real riders will know what’s up.
It is my favorite mod.
Erik S. BRBJackson 05-06-2002, 11:37 AM The tire review is in the latest issue of Sport Rider magazine. They gave the Sportec M1 really high marks, and everyone I know who has 'em raves about their performance. Champz#359 05-06-2002, 11:50 AM 180 rear also puts a larger contact patch on the road,as a result of the shape & structure of the wall, check what profile Bayliss & his mates use in WSB! if it's good enough for him,it's good enough for me!:boobies kreationzx 05-06-2002, 12:07 PM why does the 180 rear give better performance?
