Hey guys i did the airbox mod thats on the is site here: http://www.sbsource.com/viewarticle.php?id=3
I also took the tube in the airbox, inverted it and stuck it in backwards so the long end sticks out like a Graves ram airbox. I seen Chuck posted before that this was tried with poor results, well, im guessin he only said that to sell his stuff, cause mine was a world of difference. It added alot more power and smoothed it all out. Give it a try guys, if you think about it, it has to work cause you are giving your engine more air. I did it and i love it. Just thought i would let you guys know

thanks for posting up good reviews!
just something to note though. if you spin that tube around so that the long end is sticking down. it will either pinch closed or it will be sucking air from the wrong spot.
when we dynoed this mod, we did it without the tube in place at all. we showed a gain of 3.5 hp on a stock bike. i think the tube does alot more harm than good.

Hey ca 412 did you give it the butt dyno after taking the tube out????
I am in the same process right now actually in the middle of it. have'nt had the time to put bike back together yet but will leave the tube off if it helps!!!!
what was your opinion???

as far as the butt dyno goes. i have given it about a million runs with or with out the tube. and couldnt tell a difference.
i was only letting him know that if he reversed the tube to stick out ala' a reall ram air box. it would either pinch or defeat the purpose.
i guess the choice is to leave it in the correct way or remove it completly.

Ya, it didnt really make much of a difference on the good ole butt dyno. But when i checked the tube, it was pinched just a little, not too much though. I'll have to get it dynoed when i get a good map from someone (hint hint). cause like i stated before, theres no dyno here in my home town or even close by.

Can this mod be done if I don't have a power commander? Or will it just make the bike run poorly by leaning it out too much? Will I see any gains without the power commander? I wasn't planning on buying one so I didn't know if this mod would be worth it for me. Also if anyone knows what the gains are like that people are seeing, please explain (gains everywhere, topend only, losses anywhere, etc....) Thanks in advance for any feedback. :)
