Just push it from the other end, and it will come out. (that's how I removed the wheel on my 2002) Also, make sure the pinch bolts on the forks are loose.

1. Remove small hex bolt on the right side of the fork 2. Remove axel bolt. The hex in the axel a big...so instead of buying a big hex take a 3/4 spark plug socet and use the end of the socket (it should be hex shape and should fit in the axel) take a extension and slide it through where the spark plug shoud fit. Your basically using the socket backwards. 3 After the bolt is loose...use a punch and easily tap the axel out or until you can grab it. FYI I like to remove my brake calipers as well...its a lil easier to take off and mount...just my half a nickle. Dont forget to grease your axel when your done.

The end of a 5/8 spark plug socket will fit the 19mm Hex.

you could always run to your nearest home depot.. and go 2 the plumming section.... go buy the 19mm pipe grabber.. it's a tool plummers use to grab the inside of pipes (to turn em).. use a cutoff tool to cut the head off the tool.. bam you have your solid 19mm hex key made for 5 bucks.. :fact

you can leave the pinch bolts holding the hex side tight then undo the bolt on the other side then loosen pinch bolts and remove axle.

The Sparkplug socket trick doesn't always work. Cuircuit-1 makes a 3-size axel wrench socket for about $12 and it will work on almost any bike.

It's $19.95 (+ship) the last time I checked. It's available at http://www.circuit1.com click on catalog then click on tools and it's right there. Thinking about buying that myself.
