InjectedSS 06-12-2003, 02:10 AM WTF i got it up on a stand and i removed the small bolt that holds the fork on but i can finger out how the heck this thinkg comes out! it looks like there is a HEX inside the axle and the only thing i see that remotely looks like it would fit in there is the tool that came with the tool kit but it doesnt fit in there  WTF? how does this thing come out?
thanks
R1Fanatic 06-12-2003, 02:16 AM Just push it from the other end, and it will come out. (that's how I removed the wheel on my 2002) Also, make sure the pinch bolts on the forks are loose.
GeR an GeRRR 06-12-2003, 02:39 AM 1. Remove small hex bolt on the right side of the fork
2. Remove axel bolt. The hex in the axel a big...so instead of buying a big hex take a 3/4 spark plug socet and use the end of the socket (it should be hex shape and should fit in the axel)
take a extension and slide it through where the spark plug shoud fit. Your basically using the socket backwards.
3 After the bolt is loose...use a punch and easily tap the axel out or until you can grab it.
FYI I like to remove my brake calipers as well...its a lil easier to take off and mount...just my half a nickle.
Dont forget to grease your axel when your done.
Eyespy 06-12-2003, 07:59 AM The end of a 5/8 spark plug socket will fit the 19mm Hex.

R1 MUNKEY 06-13-2003, 11:49 AM try a sump plug socket you can pick one up for about £3 I don"t know how many dollars that is , not many
What is a " 3/4 spark plug socket?" Can someone please send me or post a picture of it? I just sold my front wheel, but I can't seem to get it off... please help

thanks
tidbit 10-14-2003, 10:07 PM you could always run to your nearest home depot.. and go 2 the plumming section.... go buy the 19mm pipe grabber.. it's a tool plummers use to grab the inside of pipes (to turn em).. use a cutoff tool to cut the head off the tool.. bam you have your solid 19mm hex key made for 5 bucks.. :fact
Cool, that helps!! Thanks!
sliver 10-22-2003, 06:13 AM you can leave the pinch bolts holding the hex side tight then
undo the bolt on the other side then loosen pinch bolts and
remove axle.
Ronin R1 10-22-2003, 06:48 AM The Sparkplug socket trick doesn't always work. Cuircuit-1 makes a 3-size axel wrench socket for about $12 and it will work on almost any bike.
terrasmak 10-27-2003, 10:33 AM 19mm allen wrench cut it off and weld or jb weld it into a 19mm socket , thats what i use

It's $19.95 (+ship) the last time I checked. It's available at http://www.circuit1.com
click on catalog then click on tools and it's right there. Thinking about buying that myself.
