Well fellas... I finally got around checking out my new front forks. I also changed head steering bearings.
When I first got on the bike and started to ride, I immediately noticed the HUGE differance. What I noticed of course is that bike doesn't dive anymore. When you hit it hard and upshift, the front it very stable and forks don't come up while you upshift. Basically, it's very stable on upshifts. Before I could feel the forks going up and down on upshifts...of course that was normal because my springs were pretty much gone.
Bumps: Those are way different now. Some of them I can't even really feel. Some of them (the bigger ones) are absorbed very good. The bars don't want to knock my hands out anymore.
Turning: NOw that is a HUGE differance! This is probably the biggest reason that I am happy with RaceTech setup on my bike. Once you drop the bike into the corner, it feels like its on rails. Front is VERY stable. Again, keep in mind that I am comparing it to stock. IT IS HUGE IMPROVEMENT.
Breaking hard: I noticed that before, when I blipped before comming into the turn, I would have to make extra effort not to make a front jerk, dive and going up and down. Now, I am still trying to improve my blipping technique so comming from stock forks to the new set up, it made blipping even more fun! The bike doesn't dive anymore. I don't know, maybe I am blipping different or something, but I noticed huge differance. DEAD STABLE ON HARD BRAKING.
I can't imagine what Ohlins shocks have to feel like! I can honestly say, that this is THE BEST mod so far for my bike. I know I could go with LE or Dan Kyle like it was said by other members, but I just couldn't justify the price, plus I needed it done QUICK.
So here it is folks...my review as promised. Overall I am very happy with the setup. To those of you who did not do anything to your suspension yet, if you mess around with it and set it up properly, it will amaze you what big differance it makes. I didn't went thought the settings yet, but I will very soon and see what is the best for me. Right now, I have it set up for 180lbs rider for Street and Road Racing according to RaceTech.
What I did noticed was that now, I have to compensate my rear. So that will be next.
