Odd engine noise.or is it ??

I hope that someone can answer a question that I have.I just got my 2003 R1 a month ago (marking the end of a nearly 6 year obsession with the damn thing :) and noticed an engine ticking noise.It started at about 350 miles into the break in period.It wont make the noise when the engine is in neutral and I rev it,it only happens when its in gear and the tranny is under laod and cruising in gear its audibal at under 6k rpm.The noise isnt anything like bb's in the valve cover,its more like a valve ticking.The motor is strong(understatement,,I can show you my underwear) and has no other "problems". I took it back to the dealer with about 850 miles on it(yes,I changed the oil and filter after 600 miles) and they told me that it is normal for those engines on the R1 to make that noise and that I have nothing to worry about,,,however,we all know how some dealerships are,if it involves warrenty work to be done they would rather tell you to put a band-aid on it and everything will be allright.Is there anyone out there that hears this noise??

Normal on the R1. Some are louder/tick more than others. Do a search and you'll see.
