Just got my Graves/Ohlins Damper setup from McCoy M/S, and overall I think it is a good design, but as with allmost all parts revisions to the original design are usually necesary to make the product better below you will find a list of modifications I think would make it a superior product! 1. on the triangle bracket, round off or radius the front face and top of the bracket so that the damper holding bracket does not dig into the triangle when performing the lock to lock test or doing full articulation turning as sometimes required while parking. 2. on the triangle bracket , where the feet meet the frame,(I realize they do not touch the frame , but they are in extremely close proximity) maybe a rubber pad that could be secured with a small hole in those pads, kind of like a rubber pad with a tit on it that goes through the hole in the base pads of the triangle. 3. where the damper holding braket attaches to the traingle, it hits there to, I alleviated this by installing two rubber gaskets from my local ace hardware store it could be better but as of yet this is the best thing I could come up with , but the gaskets make a tremendous difference in the stability of the attachment, no vibes either! 4. on the triangle the small adjusting allen head, the washer that this allen screws onto should have a dimple so the screw would set itself and prevent any for or aft movement of either side of the triangle. I am aware that that washer is supplied by yamaha , but it looks like it would be relatively easy to fabricate and a small dimple could be placed in it for the previously stated purpose.] I know that seem like alot but it would be really easy to rectify , and I think It would make the product better, much better. aside from the items mentioned I installed mine with some minor mods, and it works great , where the feet of the triangle meet the frame I used some adhesive velcro, hook on the triangle feet loop on the frame, the velcro is black , so it blends good, but more importantly,(to me) the gap between the frame and the triangle feet is filled and tight! if graves would do a little minor work I think they could make this damper kit the hands down best! any replies 37doc@mynra.com thanks for the time!
