Dropping front end

Ive seen pictures on the net of R1's with 2-4" drops in the front and they look to be the stock clamps. How do you drop the front with the forks tapered as they are? You shouldnt be able to get more than 1" down before you hit the tapered section.

Ruff Ryder, You can either strap the frontend or you can also modify the internals and do it that way. The internal mod you can go a lot lower with but if you still intend to do alot of street riding I would suggest just putting a strap on it and maybe dropping the forks in the trees a little. Troy
