Snow in Reefton Spur

I woke up this morning and looked like a nice day so instead of surfing the net away I took off at 9:00am from home (western suburb) then headed out to Warburton for the first time. I also brought my camera but being by myself, I got lazy and didnt take any! Clear sky was it this Sunday but freaking cold wind and numb fingers when I got back. Anyway, as soon as I reached Warburton, I kept going east and there was the rush... 40km of the coolest twisties I ever been (not that I have been a lot of places) up to the junction. I used to be the slowest r1 rider, well I still was... as first time there I took it easy (especially seeing those bunch of flowers on the road side for the fallen motorists) and there is not a lot of margin of error: on one side rocks and the other cliff with trees, then those oncoming stupid cagers cutting into my lane :no Well I made it home! From the Cumberland junction I tried to head back to Healesville through black spur but snow on the road (it was already tricky with leaves and gravels) so turned around. I realised it was a cold day but didnt see a lot of riders (1 + a group of 4 with R-ish type) and a few 4wds. After 350km, I start feeling my fingers again but my ass is still sore... oh well I had a ball, I need to ride there again... cant wait for next weekend! Sorry about the long post, but I had to share with those who have been there... I cant keep the smile off my face... FR.

FR ....your a brave man riding reefton in Winter , we did it about 2 months ago and froze our balls off , swore black and blue i'll never do it again till spring and warmer weather . I'd definately say in warmer weather that has to be the best rode i have ever ridden on with bend after bend , can't remember how many there were on the 20 or so km's , i'm sure Pete would know and give us an exact figure :lol Glad you got out , would have probably been a little more fun with a few riders but there is plenty of time for that . We'll have to all catch up one day for a ride :thumbup

Actually GOR is good but there are really too many cagers and stuff... I didnt mind no crowd/company as it was my first ride there, I just need to practice more as it is tiring on unknown road with all the extra crap: cars, gravels, leaves, etc. Take care mate... FR.
