From what I hear they are expecting around 20k bikes this year and about 40k next year. Where and how they get these estimates I have no idea. I'll try to make it one of the days. Just keep me posted. I'll be out of town for part of the weekend (going riding around Canyon Lake area) but I'll be back that Sunday. I might leave for the lake a day later to go to Galveston to check out the rally on opening day if you guys are there.

Actually those number are pretty accurate.....The last Rally was in May in Ausitn and it was absolutely insane. I35N&S was nothing but bikes. 48K bikes were in Austin for that weekend event. Riders were from all over the neighboring States.

If they are pulling the numbers from the ROT Rally, then those are accurate. But, this rally was formerly held in the Rosenberg area I believe. I'm not sure if those are the numbers from previous rally's. I'll check into it, but I will definately be there. I'll call as many of you guys that I have numbers for to let you know when and where we can meet up.

The Lone Star Ralley was held in Rosenberg. Inx, the Republic of Texas (ROT) ralley was held in Austin earlier this year.......different ones....LOL Should be interesting to see how it is set up in Galveston and how many show up.

I made a post on local meets and events about this rally...I have been telling people to meet behind the Hooters on Nasa rd 1 and 45 (Burlington Coat Factory Parking Lot) right around noon. The plan is to get ATLEAST 100 street bikes to meet and role down to G town together....I already have about 30 or so of my friends meeting there. It will give something for the Harley riders to look at for once! Who's coming with us?

Leo

Ya'll know I'm down. I'll be rolling up at noon with a full tank. Looks like this thread is getting a few more hits.

Leo
09-11-2003, 12:57 PM
yup noon on Sat. If it doesn't freakin rain you won't be able to miss us with the size of the group we are expecting to show. Buddha has been on the horn for a few days now rounding up as many bikes as possible.

Rawed
09-11-2003, 01:12 PM
How far away would that put us from there? I was hoping to get there a little earlier since I have a gig that night in the northwest part of town. I just have to head back no later than 5:30. Should be fine though. Do ya'll live in the south part of town? Ya'll need to sign up for the squadron.

Leo
09-11-2003, 01:20 PM
Buddha and I are down on the South side all the time along with a group of other riders. No telling how long it will take to get that many people moving but I'd say it won't take more than 30 minutes to get to the sea wall from there, probably less if traffic permits, not really sure what to expect.

Leo

Yup, Sat at noon, be there ready to go. Like Buddha said, I couldn't imagine 100 bikes stopping for gas at the same time.

1700warrior
09-16-2003, 08:40 PM
I've been with a group of 30+ bikes and we all stopped to gas up / top off at the same time......LOL

Leo
09-17-2003, 05:56 AM
I've gased up with a little less than 30, not a fast process. I was watching a bike video last night and there were about 100 + bikes at this gas station and I just thought to myself, although slow that looks freakin awsome. We just want to get out in a hurry and get to where all the action is.

Yeah guys, that was a blast.. Even to a cager like me. I know we got some pretty bad ass pics, so expect to see them from Rawed here in no time. If you guys go riding anywhere, make sure you give everyone on here a shout. Remember, there is safety in numbers, and now you guys are part of the Ghostrider Squad, so make sure you yell. Also, there was a lot of guys that were there that had no clue about the squad.. Send them this way, guys. Rodeo

 Who were you guys? I was there...at Hooters...I got there around 12:30 though. When i rolled up there were a few bikes, all of them were pre 02. The Hooligans were there too... I was with a silver 03 R1 and a yellow/black gixxer 600. We came in, nowhere to sit so we rode on. We met up with a crew that was docked along the sea wall. Then we all rode down to Cherry Hill and sat there until the popo in the weeds headed our way and I never saw you guys again. We went down on the strand and were disgusted by the morons. WE didnt end up staying long. I talked to one guy w/a red and black R1 - D&D and a Scott's dampner. He had on sidi boots or something like that. Boots, either way. Was that one of you? Marcus

yzfgirl
10-01-2003, 02:26 PM
I was at Hooters on the '00 Blue R1. There was room at the bar so we ate something and headed for Galveston, hung out on the Strand for a while and watched a few wrecks and took off about 5ish? Sorry I missed meeting you. Maybe next gathering. :beer

Wish I would have gone with you guys. I went up to Canyon Lake instead since we had planned the trip for about a year. And yes I rode the bike up there and back. It was okay, but I think I would have had a better time at the rally. I've got Sundays and Mondays off so those would be the days I could ride if we all want to get together for a ride. I've got 29k miles on the bike so as you can tell I'm up for riding anytime, anywhere. Hey, anyone doing the Hooter's 20th anniversary thing? Get your Hooter's passport and get it stamped at 20 different Hooter's locations and you get a party with 200 wings and I think you are eligible for $20,000. Ends in November I think. Just a thought, especially since there are almost 20 of them in the Houston area.

buddha
10-02-2003, 10:12 AM
I didn't meet any of you guys except for pollution....by the way pollution, if your girl still wants my friends bike...let me know....We need to have some sort of identifier (any ideas?) that we should have on or something to be able to tell which fools we talk to online all the time and try to meet to ride and never know who the hell they are!

Trainwreck
10-02-2003, 10:40 AM
My identifying factor is I'm the guy on the blue R1. :lol I'm going to get some r1-forum stickers made soon. Slapping one on my Chevy too. Marcus

Leo
10-02-2003, 10:50 AM
You can find R1 and Yamaha stickers anywhere. Why do you want to get them made. I'm sure we'll be riding this weekend sometime. Maybe it will be easier with a smaller group to find out who's who. :riding

pollutionx
10-02-2003, 11:40 AM
We should plan something for just the forum members. I don't like to exclude people from riding, but maybe just once. I think some people are riding this weekend (Sat.) if anybody wants me to call them let me know.

Leo
10-02-2003, 12:02 PM

I like names like "lucky 13th" and all that. Those sound like squadron names. Ghostdriders sounds juvenile to ME. I know I dont matter that much, but I'm just saying. I see some Suzuki's with Redline Rider on their bikes, that flows, rolls off the tounge, and sounds intimidating. Also sounds organized. I think we need to put more thought into our little squad's name. I have 3 friends with R1s too, they dont get online much though. We ride every chance we get. Usually 6 days out of the week we are out at night. If you care to get ahold of me, or want us to call you - 832-526-2415 and emial me during the week 9-5 @ marcusr@crcu.org I know a sticker shop - partnering building with my mother's optician's office. FREE STICKERS! Well, for me. I can't get mass quantities, but I can get em CHEAP. So lets put something together, at least a little cruise or something. Do you guys mind wheelies? Or would you shoot me if I did one? Marcus
