Posted on eBay by nervous93svt, Item # 1826116277 2002 yamaha YZF R1. Adult ridden. Brand new, 450 miles. Blue with custom painted white wheels. Everything else is bone stock. No scratches, never been down. I bought this bike two weeks ago new and I haven't even had time to break it in yet. The only reason I am selling it is because the wife is pregnant, she says "the bike goes or I go". No calls after 9:00 EST. Worse yet... she's pregnant! He reproduced with her! Sounds like the poor bastard is in for eighteen years of whipping, not to mention she'll probably cut the gonads off the kid if it's a boy. The guy's in Charlotte, NC area. Any riders there who can take him out for a :beer and a trip to the :boobies bar before it's too late?

Notice the reserve hasn't been met yet. He probably set the reserve at $30,000.I had a friend who did that, the wife said to sell the bike so he listed his 98 ZX7 for like 12Gs with leathers. Never got a call. after a month or so she softened up and he traded the ZX for a TL1000! Sorry Honey I am trying to sell it, just can't get what its worth. Guess I'll have to keep riding it. atta boy :yesnod

He says he has $10,900 invested in the bike... wonder how he figures that? With tax & license? In CA, a buyer would have to pay about $700 in taxes & transfer fees... for that, plus the current bid price of $9.300.00, you could just buy a new one.

What the...?! That guy must be another victim of that not so rare medical condition known as, "NO BALLS!" I work with a guy who bought a Harley, (yeah, I know, I know...) a few years back. So he's married and he wants a kid, so the wife says, "sell that damn bike and we'll have the kid..." So he lets it go for the remainder of his loan, like $7800.00, takes a huge loss... Then guess what... Yup, she backs out on the kid deal, several months later they're divorced... Man! I think she would have "accidentally" fallen down the basement stairs... My girl is great, but the second she delivers the "ultimatum" She's gonna take it on the heel and toe, mucho pronto!:boobies :bs :finger :thumbup

This guy has obviously never seen this show. No way ever would I even listen to an ultimatum, my wife would find her ass out on the street. This poor guy lost this battle long before he bought this bike. Should have established himself as the dominant figure in his relationship a long time ago. My wife and I would discuss anything but that ultimatum crap would be the end of our relationship for sure.....

HOW CAN SHE BE PREGNANT? HE HAS NO BALLS!!

06-27-2002, 02:19 PM
I think she used the pregnancy to give him the ultimatum. Now he is stuck between a rock and a hard place. "Sure honey, have the bike, enjoy it all you want!" "Oh look, I am pregnant! Bike or me?" meaning: If you choose the bike while I am pregnant and leave me you will look like the biggest deadbeat!! I agree with RAGEOUS 1, this guy lost the battle before it was begun. He obviously wears the skirt. Tell that bitch that the bike stays! Who is she kidding. She is not going to leave him while she is pregnant. Call her bluff! If no bluff, well then who needs her. (He obviously does not appreciate the R1 as much as we do!)

a whole lot of talk going on in this thread... be realistic, bikes arent safe and thats partly why we ride them. the wife doesnt want to be left with a dead husband cause some f'in cage driver took him out on the freeway at 85mph. or because he was out draggin his knee off the side of a cliff on old topanga and broke his back or worse. i'm not backing the wife's decision to give an ultimatum but it IS something they should have discussed prior to him even getting the bike.

Mine said something similar--funny thing is there's never a shortage of willing women wanting to go for a ride!

I guess priorities change. He does doesn't want to admit it so he passes it off on the ol "wifey". He probably needs the $$$$. Hopefully the reason he got married was to have a kid or two. That seems to be the only reason to marry. Otherwise, **** that wife shit, I'll date and ride till I die:rock :rock :boobies

- Just to give some people hope out there. We (my wife and I) just discovered we were pregnant for the third time (yay!) and to celebrate we went out and bought me a brand spanking new Silver R1 - just cause I'd always wanted a sportbike. The only trouble is now, I have to wait to get my permit / take my test before I can ride it legally - My English one doesn't qualify in California. I think that's probably the definition of torture... Ah well, it looks nice in my garage...

That sucks. If she really loved him she would understand his need and love to ride. My wifes prego and we are expecting a daughter in 4 weeks or less. Three months ago it was her idea to sell the CBR9 and upgrade to an R1. Now she's talking about getting me into some track days. Don't settle for any less of a woman fellas cause they are out there, just gotta find'em.

Wives like to give the Ultimatum. If push comes to shove and they leave with the kids they know the man will get raped in court. The legal system has a way of cutting a guy's balls off. If you don't believe me just read this very good short article by a veteran divorce attorney telling men why they should never get married. http://www.fredoneverything.net/Jed.html

That chic would be out the door. If people have a relationship, it is based on two people's love and respect for another.:makeout An ultimatum is really saying, 'I do not respect your opinion or feelings enough to allow you to operate as an individual. Do only as I say because you are so worthless and pathetic you would rather have me as your overlord tell you what you want rather than doing the things you enjoy.’ This guy thinks getting rid of the bike will solve the problem, hell no. First the bike must go, then the season tickets, no more keg-er-ator, no more nights with the boys… What is the real problem, this guys happiness or the chic? Life is about setting rules and precedence. I am not married, but I do have a strong headed girlfriend that respects me as a person. There is no reason not to honestly express my feelings to her. She should appreciate them simply because she appreciates me. I appreciate her gardening. I on the other hand, I like sportbikes, beer, sex, porn, and dogs. Luckily she likes ALL of them too! Gents, stay away from the trap of the women. It is alluring, but will cost you your life. In a sea of cruisers there remains the elusive R1. Erik S.

Personally, I get the loan, buy the bike, then tell the wife! She doesn't like it, sulks for a day or two but accepts that I earn the money, pay the bills and spend the rest on what I like. She knows that I earn at least 4 times what she does. We have 3 kids BTW, I was into bikes before we got married and have pretty much always had one.
