This is what I've been up to

I haven't ridden as much as I wanted to the last couple of days because the wife and I have been working on a "friend of a friend's" bike. He crashed it a few weeks ago and we repaired the plastics and repainted it. It's taken more time than I had anticipated and I still have a few things to do on my own bike (ie. new pads, roters, tires, 520 conversion) but we just finished this afternoon. What do y'all think?

We even repainted his helmet to match the bike. I wish I had some pics of the bike before we started. It was all the funky orange color of the tank and totally thrashed.

I like the piant scheme and I can appreciate the work that went into it, however I really do not care for the color selection, just my .02.

I will try to attach the pics of what it looked like before we got it. The upper was all scratched up n the left side I think and the tail was cracked and the sides were scratched up pretty good. The guy didn't want us to touch the tank so we didn't but now he thinks it will be okay to repaint it too! For our first ever repair/repaint jod, I'd say we did a bang up job! We learned A LOT and now are better prepaired for our next job! Here is the original bike, if you look close you can see some of the damge......

I am with you Yamahog I don't much like the colors, except the metalic gray it's a very nice color in person. The orange leaves me wanting! But to each his own!! I don't have to ride it!;)

You both did an awesome job on it. I agree that the colors aren't for me but the general paint scheme is pretty damn cool. :) Maybe if I replace my plastics with new I might talk to you guys about some work on my old ones so I can use them as race plastics or something. Hmmmm... Just depends on how much everything would cost. Anyway, great job!

I am very proud of my hubby for all the work he did with it. I do all the sanding and masking and pinstriping and he does the welding and the painting and designing. It was all him!! He did the design and I just masked it off!! Let us know if you want anything done! We also do minor service to the bikes ie: change tires, change oil, change brake lines and pads, anything electrical, pretty much anything that doesn't get into the engine of the bike! We are trying to get this bussines off the ground so tell all your friends. We will get cards soon and all that stuff. Any suggestions on how to promote would be great.

Hot R6 I am wondering what kind of help you could give me. I am very much a "do it yourself" kind of a person. I am going to do everything myself except the paint. I am curious if it would be possible to fix a crack that is located at a bolt hole. It is pretty bad, but i am interested in what you think could be done and how if there is anything that i can do to save some cash. Send me a pm if possible. Thanks. Joey

Yeah Joey, I sent you a pm but for everyone else in case you are wondering, for a crack, you need to plastic weld it. We do that, if you don't have a plastic welder then you either have to get one or have someone else do it for you. We are very resonable in price for the work that we do. The plastic welding isn't that bad, it's the sanding and shapeing afterwards that is the pain! Good luck fixing it! If you have any other questions let me know!
