Suggestions for name change

Post all suggestions for a name change here. Once we get enough, or narrow it down; we'll vote on it. Remember, even though it seems only people from Texas are posting here, we have to have a name that pertains to everyone. Looking forward to hearing some ideas. DUECE

Hey guys, I haven't seen many actual name change suggestions, so here's my take on it. After having a hooters girl comment on "Ghostriders" sounding like an old cartoon called "Ghost Writer," :2bitchsla (And listening to Imagine Paradise and the said young Hooters Girl discuss a cartoon I'd obviously never heard of), I began thinking, "Maybe a name change would be nice. . ." :ugh How about "Renegade Squadron?" Sounds better than a lame cartoon connection :rock

So it takes a dumbass hooter's girl for you guys to listen to facts huh? My 2 cents isnt worth shit huh? If I remember right, I was the one who told everybody about the lame ass TV show and nobody listened!!!:rant :rant :rant :rant wtf!?

The more :boobies and the more :beer the less I listen. Oh, and Ghost Writers wasn't a cartoon. It was a pbs show that had this ghost who would give them clues to solve a mystery. Not that I watched it. I am still sorta thinking we keep Ghostriders tho. There is some good stuff that Rawed has been working on with that.

How bout, Texas Boys? Just a thought, the skull logo would still work because of the cowboy hat. I don't know, most of the squads names aren't good. Maybe we should be known by just a symbol. People could then call us "The squad formerly known as Ghostriders". Prince got away with it.

Maybe we should all get together with dictionarys and just start throwing names out. That's how most of my and my brother bands came up with names.

HOW BOUT WE ALL STFU! :2bitchsla lol! Excuse me, had to make an entrance there... no offense meant! Anyone familiar with the guy, its kinda a profile shot, of an indian looking guy running with a hatchet? That sticker cracks me up... It could be our logo...and then we could be: Running Man Squad Tomahawk something or something tomahawk I will work on some logos tonight as I sit and drink Lonestar Beer. I think it'd be pimp - if we only had a TX Squad called Lonestar Riders or something to do with the state, and have the TX flag as our logo, but jazz it up a bit. TX flags look good on Blue, and they look good against Silver too. Besides that the TX flag is almighty! Think about the D&D logo...PIMP. We need something simple, yet effective. Something that grabs the eye, but doesnt skull ***** you. Know what I mean? I dont want the cagers staring too long trying to figure out what my lower fairing says. I'll have to kick the door in. LOL! Also, I think the logo should be a circle. Circles show unity, they are symetric, and it looks official, like a seal. Discuss LETS GET THIS THING ROLLING! (now I'm going to read the rest of this post)

I was thinking if we like the TX flag idea, and it seems that the buddies on here like flames...why not meet half way and do a semi-circle TX flag tearing away. You get your flame effect, and we retain the circle. The text could be angled, as to show motion, getting higher toward the back of the bike. Make it a cartoonish/comic like font and it would look like we were serious, yet approachable people. I am really not in favor of a skull with a cowboy hat on the side of my bike, nor am I in favor of the morbid things. I think they are cool, but I dont want to look like I'm a metal head. I think we should keep it more universal feeling. Incorporating Yamaha into it is cool, but my bike already says Yamaha on it, and what if someone that rides another bike is with us EVERY SINGLE TRIP? Can't put that guy out. Not fair, you ride, we ride, lets ride. I really want to do something with this! Most of us are from TX, so why dont we see about getting a TX Squad going and leave the other (non participating) states keep Ghostriders, or create their own idea of a logo? These are just my thoughts, lets get together on this! :D Marcus

Since there were other states involved, I was trying to stay away from Texas themes. The skull has that southern feel to it. And we want to stay with one color don't we? I'm was going to put it on my windsheild not the side. I also don't think we shouldn't use someone else's logo. If we can all agree on a name then we can do the logo.

Me too! Bare with me, I'm just brainstorming, and dont know if anyone even likes the idea. But anyhow, I was looking at the circle idea. Picture this, the left side of the circle is blue w/a star in it and the right is divided white and red like the flag. Then in the top or bottom of the red, or white, we could possible put the Yamaha logo in there. Or the Suzuki, or Kawasaki, or Honda, Buell, whatever... for those riders? I am still trying to think of stuff. How do ya'll feel about staying away from the grim reaper, morbid, should be in a tatoo type stuff? I want something that gives a mature and responsible ora. OK here's some sweet ideas! If we can get a TX only forum - we could be T Troop - Signal Squadron. T for Texas. So Texas Troop and I just like the way Signal Squad sounds. OR: Knightriders Black Lancers Black Falcons Bedevilers Iron Angels Satan's Kittens Unique Antiques <- if we were all old! that one :rocks Eight Ballers Fire Ballers Foo Dogs Vigilantes <- I likes! Check out old Fighter Squadron names on google - I cheated. But they hold strength, and history. Check out their logos too, for an idea. There's some awesome ones out there, at least for a basis. The guy running with the axe is the icon from Insane Clown Posse, I believe. As far as changing our name, I didn't add in to this, because of three things: 1) I thought this was already settled. 2) I don't have an R1 and 3) I got laid off last week. I seriously thought we were going with Ghostriders and using the skull and hat for the icon. This is a simple icon, which is easy to reproduce, which was the effect that Rawed was going for. I think it looks good, and the R1 part of it is easily taken off for those with different types of bikes that wants to keep it going. I think what really needs to happen here, now that we are seeing more involvement, is to elect a president and vice president. There also needs to be some set down rules to follow for voting in here. Here are my ideas: You must have an R1 to have a voice in the squadron, when it comes to making changes or planning anything. You must have over 50 posts to have a voice. See about getting the president and vice (or whatever you wanna call them) mod status over this one section. May not be able to happen, but would be nice to delete some of the stuff not necessary. Settle on a name. Period. Just my two thoughts on everything, but you guys let me know what you think.

Since you weren't here back when the thread was started, I'll recap. Only one person was really wanting to change it. Imagine started it and Jonathan agreed. Two out seven is not more than half. No one else cared. No one came up with anything good in a month so we thought the discussion was over. Same name, new logo. Then come new people and want to change it again.:confused: I haven't seen anything better. If someone can come up with something good then fine. But no one seems to agree. I just want to get it over with and have something.No more :argue P.S. The stupid show was Ghostwriter :fact .... not Ghostrider.:riding Big difference. :2bitchslaDo a search for it. You are right Trainwreck. I don't have an R1, and according to my own post, my opinion doesn't matter. This is why I have not been voting for a name change in weeks. I was accepted into the R1 squad without having an R1, or even a bike, because I was willing to help, not only with rides but with organization. As for agreeing with Rawed, it would be ludicrous for anyone to assume that Rawed and I don't talk about different functions outside of this forum, where we discuss different ideas, both for the forum and for other things. This does include the squad, which includes the posts here and the name change. We have looked at it from different viewpoints and tried out different ideas. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to come up with anything but a unanimous decision that there is a lack of organization with this squad, and that there at least, two to three months later, needs to be a name. My thinking is there needs to be someone voted as a leader who can mandate a name and get that started. Again, I put this up there as a suggestion. I have been willing to help this squad every step because I think it is a great way to meet new people and be safer on the roads. My understanding was that different bikes and people were allowed in the squad because, again, safety in numbers was the key. True, I have a cage right now, but eventually I will have my bike. I think it would be better if I took my name off the squad list as of right now, just so there is no confusion as to who has a say and who doesn't. Good Luck with the squad.

I just want to point out i suck at freehand drawing w/a mouse so thats why the lines are all crooked on the outline. I did this in about 5 minutes. and the cheapo manga speedlines also, lol. if you guys like it i can do a better version, just showing the rough draft. and if the name changes i can change that too. also, since you brought it up. I'm a CIW (certified internet webmaster) and i also know flash and some other stuff. If you guys consider that sort of thing ;)

Chicken Ranch - I honestly like that! LOL! Put a big mean looking chicken in the middle of a circle...surround it by "chicken ranch" or "chicken ranchers". I can see some yellow, white and red accents in there. Also- stickers are easy to make! All I have to do is email a picture of what we want. She puts it in her computer, the machine scans it and prints it out in vinyl sticker form. Make a GOOD logo! Something you'd put on a T-Shirt and wear. I can't sit here and draw at work...haha!
