: New here from Australia!!!
xxman 05-03-2002, 11:23 PM Hey all been reading this forum for a while. Very friendly people and good advice. I have just signed up and am from Australia. I have a R1 2001 model. How much does it cost to turbo the R1. Plus the exhausts under the rear seat look awseome (like a Duke) how much and what do you think of them...
Cheers and hi all
Chris
twodogs 05-04-2002, 02:39 AM another aussie member. We'll soon be taking over this forum. I've got a ride planned for tomorrow (sunday) meeting Stanwell Tops car park at 9:30am to go Macquarie Pass, Kangaroo Valley and Berry. My R1, a VFR750, CBR600, maybe a CBR1000, and maybe a few others. You're welcome to join in if you like. Just look for the screamin semen sticker on the nose of my 99 RWB.
YZF-R1 Maniac 05-04-2002, 02:53 AM Woo Hoo another Aussie!!! Welcome aboard Now all I need is another Tasmanian R1 member, or for them to bridge the bass straight LOL...:machinegu :thumbup
R1_Dave 05-04-2002, 03:22 AM Welcome.................
The under seat pipes do look cool. Bike City in Adelaide have got a 99 red R1 with the four pipes like the MV.
Not sure on the turbo job though, I think $5000.00 Aus mark. Read something in AMCN a long time ago on a 99 turbo charged R1.
Someone should shed some light on it for you. :thumbup

I think that the price for an underseat is a bit excessive for just a slip on. OTOH it's your bike and you get to ride it.

Viper333 05-14-2002, 01:49 AM Hey guys welcome aboard. You guys produce some of the fastest roadracers in the world. "Thanks". What part of your country and months would be the best and safest to take a weeks tour on a bike. I heard you guys have some places with unlimited speed limits. Is this true? How are the cops? It would cost a mint to ship a bike there from the states, so could one of you post a web site or phone of a cycle tour agency?
liveundead 05-14-2002, 11:15 PM well im almost a riding member so i guess this is were the aussies say there bit ummmm speed limits yeah hard to stick to any were but in one state the highway is unlimited but the petrol stops are few an far between unlless your carry ing gas its risky

Viper333 05-15-2002, 12:06 AM Hey liveundead
Cant help with mileage cause I never checked.
With the carb injection thing, injection should be ultimately faster.
As far as diaphrams, if you maintain a good clean air cleaner, and dont run any funky chemicals in your scoot you shouldnt have any problems for years.
