I got a ohlins damper with graves mount and now it rattles like crazy at 5k rpm, i checked the bolts and they are tight, i also have that plastic plug that goes on the big bolt on the triple, does anyone have this problem?? Any suggestions?

Not too sure what mount mine is but it doesn't rattle. My dampner runs parrallel to the bars/yoke and has begun to move towards the tank or back towards the clocks, it's only marginal (1-2cm) but I'm worried I may be damaging it. I was never given any user guide so I am unsure about adjusting it soft or hard on the copper dial to the left. Sorry one more thing, is it all right to spray the rod with Q20?
get your hands on a manual bro... and what is Q20!!!!
Good Luck... Ohlins should not rattle....NO WAY!!!!
has to be an adjustment thing me finks...

I got an Ohlins for my 2000mdl R1 and is it normal for the damper to scratch the top of the triple?

I have the same thing and I know what your problem is.. put a rubber O ring (one you can get from any local hardware store) and put it between the bolts and the metal of the top most bolts (the ones facing you). If you don't know which ones I'm talking about just think about where metal is touching metal. Mine doesn't rattle at all anymore. Oh, and I used an O ring for a paintball gun, though a sink one would do.

I got a sweet rubber conical washer from my local ace hardware plumbing dept. i put it right under the damper between the tiangle, its almost 1/2" thick when you tighten the bolt down it expands like a bushing, it works great , the bolt goes all the way through the triangle and has alt least 1 to 2 thread penetration, the conical washer is red and cost's about .60 I use a little blue locktite to keep it tight.
