It would be alot harder than you think it would.

You would need to replace the entire wiring harness, the ECM, and you would have to add or replace ALL the sensors, and the gauges up front. Not to mention replacing the throttle bodies and the airbox ( if it will fit under your tank ).

It would probably be cheaper and less time consuming to sell your R1 and buy a used 2002.... OR just be happy with what you have and do other mods to it... cams, pistons, etc...

Just have them properly jetted, they are as good as fuel injection. :)
