CATALYST 09-01-2003, 12:21 PM What size? I was thinking a +4. I thought a +6 would be too long. bhartley 09-01-2003, 01:50 PM Plus 4" tailsection with a seat made into it .
lower lightweight gas tank. jasont 09-01-2003, 10:39 PM hey mike. missed you at bonneville. i ran into brad. the busa body you did for him was wicked. excellent fit and finish. you should post a pic of bonnies rear end (her r6!!) and this will give the r1 guys an idea of your work. we are doing a turbo with a 8 over arm. i threw a rod at speedweek but we will be back. jason mcvicar. CATALYST 09-01-2003, 11:25 PM I'm working on the 03 right now and as soon as I'm able to get a set of bodywork for the 98 I'll be making the whole set with a stretch tail and lowered tank. I have the tank to work from just no plastics. The tank will be available with extra bungs for your turbo or NOS bike.....or both. :rock forza 09-02-2003, 11:17 AM Don't forget to make some bodywork for the 00-01 R1's. I would really like an extended tail (4") Lets see some pics of your work. GringoR1 09-02-2003, 11:21 AM Hey guys just wondering, why don't drag racers change the front end to conventional forks, like off an r6 or something.... wouldn't it make it lighter?
Always wondered SpidermanSS 09-02-2003, 08:03 PM Got any pictures of R1 bodywork you've done? How's fit and finish..? CATALYST 09-02-2003, 09:09 PM Okay, I'm just finishing up the 03 R1 stuff. Should have photos up on the site by next week. I'm judging by the responses that you all would like +4 tail sections rather than +6. I'll start making the 03 R1 +4 next. I know this isn't the place for it, but I'll have a +4 02 GSXR tail listed at the same time as the 03 R1. I haven't been able to get ahold of any crashed OEM bodywork for the older model yamahas yet but I do have a parts exchange program where if you donate your crashed up set I'll give you the first pull out of the mold for free. I'd like to accept just parts and pieces but I get a lot more done if I have the whole set to do at once. Having a headlight and taillight help too because I also make integrated brackets on the parts that require you to bolt your headlight to the bodywork, I call it superstreet (race bodywork for your street bike). CATALYST 09-02-2003, 09:11 PM Like I said, it's okay to donate broken parts. I just need something to start with. I won't accept other companies bodywork, just OEM. I can also make sure everything fits together well too. It usually takes about a month or so to tool up a whole bike. I'll post pictures of other bikes. I always keep the website really up to date. As soon as products are available, photos and prices are listed. Website is www.catalystracingcomposites.com. If I missed anything, feel free to ask questions.
