To anyone out there My name is Bill Hartley and I live in Indiana. I have built a 1998 Turbo R1 that I dragrace . I am going to step up next year and run in the AMA Prostar Streetbike Shootout Class. To my knowledge this has never been done with a Yamaha I would like to show all the people out there that a Yamaha R1 can compete in this class and run with the other brands . At my current setup I have been running mid 8's at 170 mph in the 1/4 mile with a stock motor on low boost. I am going to be building a new motor this winter with good rods and pistons so I turn the boost up. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing some sponsership help with me for next year . I can provide any info on me and my bike that you would need . There has been alot of people asking and looking at this setup. To my knowledge my bike is the quickest R1 in dragracing at this time . Thank you for your time . Do you need anything in terms of bodywork? I've been considering making a stretch tail and a lowered gas tank for the R1. Good to see a Yamaha in the mix.
