Only kidding, bad news mate, sorry to hear that. How did your leathers hold up??
Off to the Cali school then - now that :rock - I hope to do some days next year at Rockingham (but then I've been saying that for years!!).
I did point that R1Bird in the direction of this group in a thread but she didn't say anything so thought F it - she's down our way too.
She sounds a bit nippy so probably a good thing she don't come out!!!;)
So what you going to do for road wheels now then??
:) Lord Melch 09-02-2003, 02:13 PM Biaggi,
Good to hear from you pal...
Well 1st my BKS leathers were the nads. One arm slightly warn and stitching stuffed but the zip's are warn and need to be replaced in the Winter so no drama to patch the leathers.
Maybe I was lucky, well not maybe definately - damage to me wise - but the BKS's certainly did their job.
That's once on a roundabout on diesel - not a scratch to me and now AGAIN at approx 60 sliding across the tarmac and bouncing across the grass and the leathers are STILL good to go - amazing..
Bike wise the R1 is being converted to track use only - new Scott Fibres fairing, seat unit, screen, add steering damper, subframe straigtened.. alarm (on the way out) removed, new sticky Michelin Race 2 (soft) tyres, Ohlins suspension checked, Dymags checked etc etc.
Should be ready for Brands GP and Silverstone next week - yehhaaaa !
:rock
Just bought a 20k-miles Fazer 1000 for 3.5k for my commuter bike - totally stock - virtually plod proof, (I hope) and goes like the clappers, well after all a R1 engine tuned for low down grunt - sit up and beg bars, I'll move all my heated stuff to the Fazer and hey preesto.
Even had under seat storage and I'll slap on the tail pack with HUGE CHAIN for London trips. And I bet - yet to test - she wheelies like a gooden !!!
How are you old chap ?
BTW R1 Bird is cool and damn fast :yesnod biaggi 09-03-2003, 03:33 AM Now where did that wife comment go then eh??;) ;) ;)
Good to hear your OK and the leathers did their job. Talking of leathers, I get my new suit today from Cissbury leathers - they did me a good deal on an RST Dyno Pro suit - the wife seems very excited:confused:
Shame I still can't ride though:mad: The physio thinks I will be back on two wheels in a couple of weeks though, just in time for the end of summer :( no big deal though, will be a few months before I can really push with the knee again so come next spring I'll be ready to really rock :rock
God damn, you do more track time than Rossi et all put together!!!
Fazer - nice choice and a perfect one for an R1 addict. I rode one briefly as a courtesy bike when I had my Monster - boy did that thing fly!!! Should keep you out of bother with the boys in blue:yesnod
Anyway, take it easy old boy and we'll have to catch up soon for a beer when I'm mobile again. I'd love to have a look at your track bike too.
:) Lord Melch 09-13-2003, 01:40 PM Biaggi,
Now where did that wife comment go then eh??
Thought better of it ;)
an RST Dyno Pro suit - the wife seems very excited
Well at least she is excited. Do you also wear the suit on the bike....
:D
Shame about the Physio etc. Better to get properly healed thought I guess
:( A pal of mine has broken the same bone in his arm two years in a row falling off !!!
Fazer - nice choice and a perfect one for an R1 addict. She goes well. Strange being so upright - we shall see. Also as you say stock so more plod proof and hopefully more tea leaf proof also...
I'd love to have a look at your track bike too. well book yourself a track day... :) :) .. only joking, any time you are free let me know.
Silverstone GP followed by Donington GP coming up in a week or so... yeahhhhaaa.
She's put back nicely now, Scott Fibers race fairiing, Dymags, Ohlins all OK. New damper, and Pilot Sport 2 (s), and ready to rock...:rock
Look after yourself old chap.
