So I did my 520 conversion back in April and that included a DID 520ZVM chain which ran me $170... I cleaned, lubed and adjusted it about every 200 miles as recommended, and now only about 4,000mi later the POS chain has already gone to the shit house.. ended up having to buy an RK chain, which thankfully I got a real good deal on after the dealer felt bad about selling me the POS DID chain :2bitchsla
So I'm not sure about other DID model chains, but by all costs DO NOT buy a 520ZVM, they suck major arse!! :machinegu :butt

MegatronR1:
I have a DID 520EVR2 on my track bike, it's under heavy usage on a regular basis; so far it's performed flawlessly w/minimal stretch).
IMO, the 520ZVM isn't rated for the R1's horsepower; hence why I chose the 520EVR2.
Food for thought.

thanks for the info VPR.. I bought the ZVM through my dealer who now admits that they didn't look closely enough to see if that chain could handle the kind of power a bike like the R1 makes.. that's why they then gave me a good deal on the RK, and this time I made them verify that it would last on such a bike.. I would've gone for the ERV but when I first heard that my chain went bad I was so PO'ed at DID that I just went with the RK..
Again, thanks for the advice.. if the RK doesn't work out, I will go with the ERV next.. :hellobye :thumbup

with proper care they should last close to 10,000mi (or so I've heard for 520 chains).. 530 chains should last even longer..

Same for me. My 520ERV2 is doing fine so far (3,500 miles).

yeah I think the dude at the dealership didn't look carefully enough at the chain's capability when he ordered it for me.. plus it was also because the rear Stealth Sprocket became out of round, so that contributed to messing up the chain too.. I've since switched to an RK chain and Renthal rear sprocket, and all is good :rock

Tensile strength of the did erv2 (520) is higher than some of the 530 chains! I ran a erv2 for a long time and beat it like a redheaded stepchild! Dragracing every week, wheelies etc.. and it barely, barely stretched. I'm running a 530 now, only for drag racing, but for a 520, put down the $$ for the DID erv2!
