Ok, let me throw this dilemma out there. Let's say that on Friday night you wanna make a few sub 10 second runs at the local drag strip and then Saturday by noon tearing up the nearby twisties. So you go get yourself some Schnitz lowering straps, 2 up on the back sprocket, and some swingarm extensions. So what's the wildcard in this whole scenario?
The damn chain.
I mean hell if it weren't for the fact that you'd have to switch the chain you could switch the whole thing from straightaway monster to twisty whore in about an hour I figure.
Anyone come up with a solution to this dilemma?
Curiously,

Keep a second chain hanging on the wall.
That is what I do.

Your forgot to mention the extended rear brake line issue for the extended swingarm. Extra chain is indeed the way to go.

I know this is old, but you can also get an extra masterlink and a piece of chain.

I don't know if I would hit the twisties with an extended swing arm..........

I've hit the twisties not only on a 6" over bike, but also lowered 3 1/2" in the front and a STRUT in the rear! As long as you don't plan to drag knee- you'll be just fine.

yep i agree with forza, my old Honda i used to hit some twisties with a 6" arm and slammed till i bought a Mickey thompson MCR2 for it, a soft flat tread tire does not handle on the curves !!! lol
