I just thought I'd pipe up, World Superbike round in Canada next year! In quebec though... In june Hey smoke, I noticed your sparky knee sliders on your avitar, did I ride with you on east sooke and gillespie on vancouver island this summer? you had saddlebags, I had the 2001 red R1, I was behind you when we came across the 2 unlucky riders that were chattin with the cops. I just wanted to say Hi:hellobye

I just wanted to say Hi:hellobye Yup! :yesnod That was me. On Kangaroo Road on the Labour Day weekend. Kool man, good set of roads around there. Last year I went to visit friends in Sooke I only headed up to Jordan River and almost to Port Renfrew but turned around when the pavement started to suck and I was low on gas. This year when I visited friends in Sooke I decided to check out that Kangaroo Road route (saw it in the Destinations Hwy book) gald I did it was a fun bunch of twisties. Good little ride with ya man. :thumbup We had horseshoes in our pockets when we came across the cop, poor suckers that were pulled over. :D

Yup, lady luck was there for us that time!:boobies I was kinda surprised by the cops there, but they have just started getting thicker there in the last 2 years. The pavement to renfrew alternates in quality, there is better pavement after the shitty stuff, they are repaving bits all the time. Thats the best bit of twistiness around here, well the most challenging anyways. Detsinations highway book eh? Ill have to pick one of those up! I was pretty surprised to see another red 00-01 R1, they are pretty scarce around here, it was cool to see one moving, I have the only one I know, there is another one in town but I havent seen it. I hope I wasnt pissin ya off by being too cozy. I noticed you still had you fork tube flush with the triple clamp, I dropped mine 6mm, made a big difference. Cya :riding

It takes a lot more to piss me off than going for a ride with a fellow R1'er. :) Originally posted by slow-jess I noticed you still had you fork tube flush with the triple clamp, I dropped mine 6mm, made a big difference. I remember at one point you saying that you were still playing around with your suspension. Sounds like it's working.

Yeah, I am always playing with it, that day I was refreshing my memory on how to ride a wallowing pig (I had set all my damping really soft to free up the travel going both ways) I do have a really good base setup that I go back to, actually if your into reading about setup, I made a thread along time ago while I was laid up from a head on with a drunk (I was on my bike) Its on this site, http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=13415&perpage=20&pagenumber=1 its pretty long, but I think it covers most everything (on any sportbike) I also posted it on the VIRiders site, (vancouver Island Riders) I am always surprised how little people know about those little knobs! glad I didnt piss you off!
