how does lowering the rear effect the chain?

if i lower the rear say 3 inches, will that stretch or loosen the chain? looking at it i think it will move the rear sprocket back, is this right? should i be able to use the stock chain and just adjust when lowering that much?

You can use the same chain... Just make sure you have clearance so the rear wheel doesn't hit the pipe under heavy load...
