I live in southern AZ but i dont think the elevation should effect the starting. its an 02 R1 that starts immediately after it has been ridden, but every morning i have to crank it about 5-6 times before it wants to start.


any ideas or things to check?

its completely stock except for the AIS system being removed and plugged.

Must be too lean at idle......maybe the plugs are dead.....or on their way to...

Mine's been like that since day 1. Both completely stock and with a PowerCommander. I'd say it's just an '02-03 trait.

plug clean up or change will make a big difference.
