Zippy 12-29-2003, 04:28 PM Bump. sick-one 01-01-2004, 07:39 AM I just purchased one off a forum member, don't have it yet (in the mail) but he say's it's the shit! You can hardly feel the bike shift, it work's very well. well see when it comes in. later emausa1 01-07-2004, 07:33 PM I use the translogic on my R1 and it's awesome. I use to use the tectronics and it didn't work half the time and when it did not even close to the smoothness of the translogic with intellishift. We have these in stock as well. We are the US importer of them now. give us a call. Ozzy_R1_demon 01-17-2004, 07:12 AM Have a mate here in OZ with one(BluR1),he loves it. Has had it for a few years, and reckons its one of,if not THE best kits available.
Cheers.
:thumbup Ricky22b 01-31-2004, 08:56 AM Hi guys !
This is my first post so go easy on me.... ha !
Just about to purchase a new 2004 R1. Have had an R1 for the last couple of years and have had the translogic quick shifter set-up for as long. It really is the dogs danglies. You will never change gear as quickly and as smoothly without one. A real fantastic piece of kit.
Although I let it go when I sold my old R1, I have a brand new one sitting in the box ready for my new 2004 bike. That alone maybe tells you how much I think of it. Cant wait ! If anybody does purchase can I suggest you get the optional GP sensor. You dont have any set-up what so ever to do with it as it works on pressure. The older systems took a little bit of fiddling with to get 100% perfect.
I challenge anyone who buys one to say they dislike it. Even if its only for the digital gear indicator its worth it.
Good luck ! blur1 02-01-2004, 11:49 PM Originally posted by emausa1

had my techtronic for 5 odd years and NEVER missed a shift.:fact 04R1Belgium 02-02-2004, 12:05 AM I ordered the QS4GP system with the GP sensor from ema-usa last week. Got a great deal on it from him :rock
I have been using the techtronics for years on my ZX-9R, but had some issues with it. The translogic system seems better to me since it does not cut off the ignition, but the fuel supply, and brings back the fuel supply smoothly after the shift.
I've read nothing but good things about the tramslogic, and the fact that lots of BSB teams use them must count for something.
I expect it to arrive this week, can hardly wait !:boobies
One more goodie to drool over. If now the bike would arrive at last I could bolt everything on to it :lol WheelSpin 02-02-2004, 12:24 AM I have always wondered what it's like to downshift w/ the powershift version - pull clutch then push (red?) button. How well does that work? Is there a way to downshift w/o having to manipulate the clutch lever, & if so, how?
Also, it would seem that the Yamaha race kit shift shaft linkage is required, since the translogic unit won't fit through the small frame route.
BTW - what exactly is the purpose & function of the GP pressure switch? Ricky22b 02-02-2004, 12:15 PM The GP pressure switch acts basically as a sensor. It tells the translogic system when to cut your ignition and/or fuel supply. You obviously want it to cut before the gears get meshed in the gearbox so you dont have any drive on the transmittion, therefore allowing a sweet and trouble free gear change.
As far as I know it will fit through the frame on the R1. You are supplied a shorter linkage to replace the origional, and the GP sensor very simply screws onto the end of it. WheelSpin 02-02-2004, 01:40 PM Thanks Rick. Do you use the push button feature to downshift? Ricky22b 02-02-2004, 03:16 PM I bought the whole system except for the push buttons. So basically my quick shifter is still operated by my foot, not my hand.
When you have the puch buttons all they do is operate a 'cylinder' as such which is used in conjuction with the gear linkage. It operates your foot gear lever for you, and I would assume it cuts the ignition and/or fuel supply as per up-shifts. So it really is no different whether your changing up or down. Its just up to you whether you prefer to go the traditional foot way, or work with you hands. | |
