I wish there were group things going on. What are you going to be doing out here? By the way welcome to Hampton roads. I am stationed at Norfolk with the the Reserve Marines. Are you familiar with the area? If you need anything just let me know. I live down in Virginia Beach.

Oh yeah, what bike shops you guys go to around here? I went to Cycle World in Va Beach blvd and it does not look like they do much there... anyplace around here with a dyno?

GNYHUF
12-09-2003, 09:45 AM
There is a place up near the Norfolk Naval base that has a dyno. Plan on getting mine in there soon, $150 for a custom map. Sport Cycle Center on Hampton Blvd...628-8100.

Shadow R One

$150 for a map  those go for $350+ in charleston :lol Looks like it will be time to get me a PC3r and a map to go with it :) though I think I will wait till spring time. Man it is cold up here :(

Hey Shadow, thats what they told me on the 1st of november. Out in California it would run 300 plus for a custom map. When he told me the price I had to ask him again. I will call him again today to see if he was correct. I plan on waiting till late Winter or early Spring to get a custom map after I tune up the bike and repack my pipe. I am planning on a late Spring/early summer run to Deals Gap and looking for anyone who wants to make a weekend out of it. Dave

Pretty much all the bike shops suck around here. I order most of my shit and do all the work myself. Whenever I need a hand, I got a few bike mechanics that are real good. We also got connections for tire installation since all shops around here rape you to put it on and take 2 weeks to do it.

As it turns out I recently talked to the Triumph shop in Norfolk. They opened my eyes up to how the Dyno's are done here. They do not do full dyno's ie.,custom map. They charge you $150 bucks to run your bike and play with the adjustments slide on your PCIII. If they don't have to adjust it they only charge you $50 bucks. What a rip off...I will do my own work and save my money. At the most I will pay the $50 bucks to see what HP I am running and thats it. I can't wait for the Spring time...having withdraws here. I rode my bike to work last Friday (less than 35 degrees) at 4:30 in the morning. wasn't too bad, fingers were a little cold when I got to work. Cant beat hitting the HOV on the way home though. Hope to meet up when the warm weather hit....

I think its better to just wait until one of the local shops does another dyno run for 10 or 20 bucks. Probably not until spring or summer though. I've been riding a lot this winter with the Urban Outlaws. Nobody else really rides that I've seen! The snow situation sucks now though.

Who are the Urban Outlaws and where do you all ride?

T-MannIBP
01-28-2004, 07:52 PM
A guy named Chris on a GSXR-750 with spikes in his helmet (prez), Victor on a ZX-636(vice prez), Jessie and Damien on Silver R6's, and a couple other guys. I used to be the prez of IBP-but went solo a few months ago due to members not riding. We ride all over-Pungo most of the time. SOmetimes we'll hit Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, Surry-I know a few hidden roads out there most people don't. Im not an urban outlaw but I ride with them because we all ride alike- pushing the limits. I like wheelies, endos, and dragging knee-We all learn from each other and its cool. There's a group called the Coast Riders but they just hate on insane stunt riders and practice kickstand stunts in parking lots.

Anyone know who the group running around wearing the black jackets is? I saw about 15 of them all grouped together about a month ago going up Independence and getting on the freeway. They look like they were coming from the ocean front. Some nice bikes too.

Once the weather warms up a bit, there will be some bikes hanging out at the Dairy Queen on the strip. There are a couple of folks on R1's who are regulars.

Flaky yes, but thats where I have seen them. I'm not to much into hanging out at the beach so much as I am in getting a good days ride in on some twisties. I moved back out here last summer from California. Its a different world when it comes to many good roads to hit. Hard to come by around here. Usually have to ride for awhile to get to some really good roads. Down at the beach you usually get hassled or always being watched by the cops. Really sucks...

All you people in Va-beach..... and me up in the Richmond area....... let me know if somthing is going on down there one night....... i'm always on the look out for something to do..... not a lot goes on up here.... i take my bike out as much as possible... but the cold keeps me close to home..... in the summer though we have a bunch of guys up on Broad st. live long.... live fast.... but most of all... live loud...... be safe..... and don't forget your gear

MOST riders meet up at EXXON on the strip (Laskin & Atlantic Ave.) When the cops kick us out because the gay cagers block the gas pumps, we go to Dairy Queen. But unless we buy shit from DQ, they kick us out real quick. Theres a little Alley across the street from DQ that we usually occupy without bother. CP Shuckers is cool too-we park our bikes on the sidewalk right next to the strip.

My last post was for VA Beach. As for Norfolk, we hang at Norfolk State-there's a 7/11 off Campostella Ave where a lot of riders meet or Picasso's off Witchduck Rd. The beach does suck with all the cops-but people just go there to bullshit and pick up girls-I can't argue though-I met my girl at the beach. I know some pretty good rides in Suffolk, Chesapeake, and Surry. I take a lot of riders out to makay Island Past Pungo where we hop on a free ferry with our bikes and go across the bay to RT 168 which brings us back to VA Beach real quick. Does anyone know how to start a topic for VA Beach Riders on here??

Whenever you guys want to hit some good back roads just let me know in advance and we will meet up somewhere. I live west of Richmond (closer to Charlottesville) and we have plenty of good roads around here. The mountains up here make for some really challenging curvy roads. We mainly ride in the Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Staunton and Richmond areas. I don't know of any bike spots in the Tidewater/Va Beach area. Hit me up and we will gladly make the ride down one day.

The mountains are incredible, you'll love it. But they do bite back if you attack them too hard. Some of my crew found this out the hard way. Lots of bikers meet up there on Sundays. There are usually plenty of R1's over there.

Wow, there are people with sportbikes around Charlottesville that ride roads other than 29? This area is GREAT for riding. There loads of backroads in the Charlottesville area that are nothing, but corners. We ride 810, 607, 56, 607, Advance Mills Road, etc...just to name a few. You could ride this area for a week straight, and never ride the same backroad twice. Dion I used to have 99' R1 (red/white w/Devil Shotguns) that some dude bought from Waynes. I think he is close to you.

Occassionally I'll see a few people on 33. I've got some video from 211 somewhere I'll try to dig up. I'm from NOVA, so most of the people I ride with are from there.

211; 33; Reprezent! hahaha. I'm definatelly tryin to find some new spots this year too. Not tryin to hit up the same places as everyone else. I need a GPS.
