I have never even seen a road turn in Nebraska, I thought all of them were straight. Sorry to hear about your move. Good luck in your search. You may try a web search for tracks. I only know of the dragstrips in the state. Wish I could be more help.

I'm in Omaha, and I haven't seen a road turn decently yet, then again it's too freakin cold to ride yet

Originally posted by fjorn Cool, when I get ready to head down in the summer I'll give you a heads up. I might be going down there the first weekend of February, but that's too damn cold. I'm exactly sure of the roads around KC, but I know where to turn to get around down there. It's been almost a year since I was down there last. Yeah dont come in Feb.......wait till some nice weather.:thumbup

If you are looking for a closed track, MidAmerica Moterplex is in Glenwood, IA and they have a pretty decent track if you just want to open it up and let er run. Other than that there are a few roads that might sastify you but I need to know how long you wnat the road to be and desired speed limit (like that really matters anyway)... Just let me know what you are looking for and I can hook you up with a few good roads. I don't have an R1 (yet) but am planning on getting one this summer... In the meantime I tacke the twisties with a 1987 Porsche 944 so I know the frustrations of living on Omaha and not having enough good curvy roads. Although try Bellevue Boluvard. It is about two miles long, lots of twists and turns, senic and no one follows the 25mph speed limit... its more like 45 which is pushing it at times... Enjoy...

I'm in Council Bluffs. There are a few decent roads outside C.B., about 30 minutes from Omaha. L-34 (starting near Underwood, IA) isn't too bad, or the highway from Council Bluffs to Glenwood (can't remember the name of the highway). There are all kinds of twisty roads up in the bluffs on each side of the river, although they are short. Still fun though. Sometimes a group of us get together and take a trip up to Sioux City, using the county roads starting with L-34. They are all nice roads, with fast sweeping corners. It's a lot of fun. Anyone in the Omaha metro area, gimme a PM or an email and we'll get together and ride sometime. Eric

none in central iow :( plenty over on the eastern Iowa side. Nice bluffs overlooking the river with awesome switchbacks up in NE Iowa where i grew up. We should see about setting up a day at MAM this summer. Trakc is good, and they are fairly reasonable for rental. If anybody is interested. i'd look into setting one up as i have set-up many when i was in Florida. I can't ride the track hard anymore, but i would lend my experiance in setting up and running the track day if enough are interested. Let me know.

Track day sounds good if you can get something set up. We should also see about getting a group together for a trip out east. I've heard the riding in the bluffs along the Mississippi up into Wisconsin is excellent. Also, there are some decent roads south of DM, near the Missouri border. Thanks, Eric

Before that I had a red/white 2000 R1 with a full Akra. I wasn't out much last year, but I usually hung out with Steve on the turbocharged yellow Gix 750. He would usually lead the way when we went to Sioux City. Sometimes I'd ride with the 3 Mikes (a 954, F4, and R6 with duel pipes), Hayabusa Rob, and Wiskas with the RC-51. But like I said, I wasn't out much last year. Used to go out a lot a couple of years ago with my wife and watch people stunt and drag race over by the airport, before they kicked us out of the parking lot we hung out in. How about you? Eric

Those that did want to ride were a bunch of retards. Maybe next season will be better. Gimme a PM sometime once the weather warms up and we'll ride. Maybe we can set up a group ride over to Eastern Iowa or Sioux City.

I try to stay away from the posers that just sit along broadway in parking lots all night. The group I ride with does take a break after a ride and sit for a minute along broadway but then we try to get out and take another ride(the sooner the better for me) . I try to stick with the older crowd that rides. I ride with a guy named Larry who is 56. Pedro who owns a shop in omaha(probably the best rider out there) he sports an older gsxr1100. Steve used to ride with pedro a lot but not as of late. From what I hear Steve was a damn good rider until he started to just sit along broadway all night. I also ride with a guy named Chris who rides an R6 and he is a good rider too. I cannot wait until spring!

Yeah, I know Pedro well and used to buy stuff from him all the time when he was at Steven's Motorsports and Ramer Motors. He went with us once to Sioux City. It was fun sitting back watching him and Steve go at it. They're both damn good. They used to ride with a guy named Sammy, who they both said was an amazing rider. But, he got married and stopped riding. I don't recall Chris or Larry (or you, what's your name?), but I'm sure I'll meet all you guys this spring. Peace, Eric

I am sure we will meet up this year to ride. There are a lot of idiots out there so the more "good riders" to ride with the better! Oh yeah I would like to check out your ARATA. That is what I want ot get for my bike but, Pedro keeps on telling me to go yosh. He is in love with the k31000 and he has "ideas" for my bike. hahaha too bad its not with his money.

You've got one more day to check out the Arata. It's coming off and getting sold and the stock system is going back on. I've got a friend from KC with a Gixxer Thou with an Arata. It's bad ass. Although Yosh is great for Suzuki's, I'd prefer the Arata just because not everyone else has one. And it's looks better too (in my opinion). Gimme an email as soon as you can if you want to see/hear the Arata and I'll let you take a look before I take it off. Eric erkki@cox.net
