Hey guys, Just got signed up for my first motorcycle class. I signed up for June 8th class at road america with reg pridmore. ? It ended up costing me $360 plus they require tires with 98% left so that'll be another few hundred bucks. Anyone ever done this class before? It came highly reccomended from a friend. Is this a good one to start with

wow no replies? nobody's been there or what? That's why I posted it in the General bike talk forum...nobody comes in here. I think its a major pain the the a#s that there is a different form for this type of thing, or that this got moved to it. I've never been in this forum before just because there isn't a whole lot of discussion goin on most of the time.

People with an interest in track day and school topics will know where to look for this type of subject matter. Thanks!

I can tell you this much about Reg's CLASS. It is based on learning and honing riding skills with a relative emphasis on street riders, whereas his son Jason's STAR is more track oriented and focused. I have not been to Road America, but I plan of going this May, as Reg is a good friend of MTC (Motorcycle Training Center; I am a staff rider for MTC track days), and the MTC staff and CLASS are hooking up for this event. You might also look into Code's California Superbike School, which holds schools at a variety of tracks around the US.

You bet. Can't get too many schools under your belt. Sorry your thread hasn't generated more traffic, but give it a little time. The re-organization of the board into some of the newer subsections is still young, and should improve the funtionality of the forum and make it even better, as great as it is!

I've been to Road America, but not to Reg's school. I've heard good things about it though. It is a fun, fast big (four mile) track. I live just an hour from there, so I go everytime I can. I am going this year on June 9th and 10th, right after you are there. Have a great time!

Go to http://www.nesba.com and have a look at the rider's manual. Basic prep: These are the things they look for at tech inspection. Tape over or remove headlight, taillight, turn signals and mirrors. Rear tire must have at least 50% tread in the center Oil drain plug and filter must be safety wired, unless in Beginner group A back protector is required in Intermediate and Advanced, recommended in Beginner. Foam jacket inserts don't qualify. Firm brake lever, enough pad material remaining to last the day. Throttle should return properly, should not be sticky. Chain properly adjusted, in good shape. Zip together leathers are fine. You will find a great group of people there. Both the riders and the Nesba folks. Usually, Matt Drucker of MDRacing is there with tire changing gear and some consumables. He does not charge a lot to change a tire. I ride a 929, #300. Hope to see you there!
