You hear so much about all the courses out there... High prices aside.. They are supposed to be the S#$Znit... I see that the R1-Forum has an advertisementfor Keith Code's Califirnia Superbike School.. Has anyone from this Forum actually taken part in that school??? OR any other for that matter... Please describe what you LOVED.. or thought not worth the big ticket?:fork

I went to Freddi spencers school in vegas www.fastfreddie.com when I first got on a bike, I learned a lot about breaking and cornering, i am going back with a friend in april to retake the class, now that I am a slightly more confident rider. I liked the class, besides, its an excuse to got to Vegas. Vegas baby, Vegas.:beer :rock

I took the Learning Curves school at VIR. Well worth the 150 bucks just to get to run on a track. Learned a few things about line choice and braking. :thumbup

i did not really learn anything the first time around about agressive riding because I could not ride well enough. My parents sent me when I got my first bike because one o their friends said it would save my life. Unfortunately, I was barely confident enough on a bike to get around the course at any real speed. I think I could improve a lot from the actual instruction now. Theres always room for improvement and the instructors know a hell of a lot more about riding than I do.

I highly recommend it. :thumbup IMO, unless you're already a hardcore track junkie or club racer, you'll find levels 1 and 2 to be very helpful in teaching you basic but important skills for track and street riding. Levels 3 and 4 move into more personalized instruction - incorporating skills taught in levels 1 & 2 and expanding on them. I think any rider, even racers, will gain alot from these 2 levels especially. I recently did 2 days with Jason Pridmore's STAR School. Again, very highly recommended. I do think, however, that it's geared more for riders with some track experience (even for those in the "street" level). From what I understand, some "track schools" are basically glorified track day organizations, but these two that I've mentioned, along with several others I've heard of, are very organized and effective schools. Hope this helps.

I've done Codes Levels I and II, and I may do Level III in April. I used Code's bikes for I and II, but when I do III, it will be with my R1 track bike. I highly recommend Code's organization.

JUST got my enrollment papers, and the two books (Volume 1&2 w/ DVD also), sent to me in the mail. Am going for the "Two Day Camp @ Laguna in March! It's Official! Bit pricey at $1950.00 US (Specially for us Canadians = $2500 CAD) BUT.. from everyone that I talk to, you guys included, they ALL say "Best money you COULD EVER spend in regards to motorcycling" They say "Forget the money on Bling Bling parts.. and all that suspension set up.. FOR now... DO the track at Code's, THEN... you'll know the difference and appreciate the knowlegde it brings to your everyday riding skills/ability. Thanks Zippy, for the heads up.. really want to get some video of me that I can take home too. That would be kind of neat to be able to relive it, once the thrill has ended! Any Ideas on that? Can you have anyone you know come.. and video it? Or Can you keep the video of you that they shoot? I know that they get a lot of Video of you in the THIRD LEVEL.. BUT... obviously I am only ABLE to take part in the first two, seeing as you can only take part in ONE LEVEL PER DAY... :( Guess I will have to go back.. if I like it.. .! Say, Have either of you two, taken the "Two Day Camps?" Or did you just take one level at a time... (wondering if I should have saved the money.. and spent a third less.. and gone for the "one level per day) anyway... let me know guys if you have any answers regarding the Camera's/Video or anything else... Cheers:riding :fork

I have never done one, but spent years reading and practising on the road. I was very lucky that despite some close calls i never came off. My girlfriend passed her test and went on the UK California Superbike School level 1 course literally the next week, and learnt everything i had in a day! She saved herself years of trial and error, and i wish i'd done it too.
