for those of you that have them, or have used them, which brand is best and if you could describe why they are your brand of choice, (i.e. ease of use, controls, etc.)

It's obvious from the outside perspective that Chicken Haeks are better than Tyre Sox, but I don't have a money tree in my back yard and there are several sets of Sox on ebay for sale. Lil help from you guys that have used them? THE MUFFIN MAN 02-02-2004, 11:17 PM c'mon, input please!! Eyespy 02-02-2004, 11:29 PM I gave my opinion in the other tire warmer thread, so you already know what it is. Spanky R1 02-03-2004, 04:43 PM Originally posted by Eyespy

True, but we don't know why you think the Sox suck. Are they hard to use...don't work...malfunction?? If I had 400 to spend I would be all over the Chicken Hawks.
If its just because they are harder to use I could probably live with that because I would be spending less. If its because they don't work very long and burn holes in your tires then thats a problem I can't overcome with my superior riding skills.:crash THE MUFFIN MAN 02-03-2004, 05:33 PM who voted that i'm slow as hell??? That was me. I figure the tire warmers are sure to make me faster.:thumbup:lol Eyespy 02-03-2004, 07:12 PM It's because they suck. Construction is inferior. They don't heat evenly, they develop hot spots. That right there is reason enough to not mention the other reasons. Spanky R1 02-05-2004, 06:54 AM Found an interesting comparo on CH and TS.CLICKY (http://venus.13x.com/roadracingworld/issues/jul01/tirewarmr.htm) Ozzy_R1_demon 02-18-2004, 03:19 AM Originally posted by Eyespy

 Well there's another Eyespy tip of advise that I'll be sure to remember:yesnod I figured that most tyre warmers would be the same, and all do the same thing. Didnt realise that there could be such a contrast in quality and construction:dunno
Im still getting into the track scene,so thanks to the regulars/experienced track guys that post with track riding info to help out us rookies:thumbup
Cheers boys
:beer Spanky R1 02-18-2004, 05:23 PM Well..had a guy offer me a brand new/never used set of Tyre Sox w/o the cozies for 175.00 shipped so I swooped on it. I would love to buy the Chicken Hawks and prefer them but don't want to spend 400. I put the front warmer on an old supercorsa front I had and let it warm the tire for 45 minutes then removed it and it seemed like the tire was uniformly warm (except for about an inch of the tire were the 2 ends come together). I figure since I am only doing 3-4 track weekends a year and its my first set these will be OK. I am going to Jennings this weekend and will post about how well they work. elliot308 02-22-2004, 10:44 PM I bought mine from these guys
I like the Chicken hawks because of the 1 piece construction and they're easy to use. Sox are warmers and then you have to put the insulating sox on over them.
