The houses in this area are going b/w 280 and 330k, but most don't have central air. The area I'm looking in is around 400k to 475k for a decent size house, over 1500 sqft.
AnonymousR1 02-02-2004, 03:40 PM Wow, my house is over 4,000 sqft, and was originally built for $210,000 (10 years ago). It's now appraised close to 400k.
Maxxym 02-02-2004, 03:42 PM WOW! Cali IS expensive. That's a lot of mulla for 1000 sq feet.
GREYMKT250RR 02-02-2004, 03:59 PM i cant belive the prices...my friends house is like that in Venice Beach, he paid 300 for his and it IS 1000 sq ft,
i have just paid 171 for almost 2K sq ft and a 2 car garage, and they are not done building it, and I already made 40K on it.
johnnyv5 02-06-2004, 01:05 PM i just got the appraisal on the house that I am buying, since it went into escrow, it has gained 20k in equity. I can imagine what it is going to be at the end of the year!
Blue03Rsix 02-06-2004, 01:11 PM I don't think I can afford to take a crap in a house like that. In Chicago you can get a house that big for about 150,000.
johnnyv5 02-11-2004, 11:29 AM yeah, but in chicago, you can't ride year round, or go to the beach and the mountains in the same weekend, or look at fine as mamacitas just about everyday, or...........

You outta see the prices for homes in Hawaii these days. If I had waited two years longer to sell my home in Hawaii, I would have made another $175k!!

true, its all about cost of living and market value for the area. Being in real estate, I can say that is crazy how a home that probably wouldnt get 100k here could go for 320k there. Amazing what realtors in Cali must make! THen again, if living is that expensive, it all balances out pretty much.
Dont get me wrong...It is a nice home though, just very small.
What are your SA taxes there? :scared

I remember being in high school in the early 90's there. We lived in Makakilo and had a small townhouse that ran about 200K:confused: Property is mega expensive in hawaii....
