what is the bare minimum that you need to do in order to do a track day? I finally got all the gear and crap, what needs to get done to the bike (at minimum)? Can I just do any old track day if its my first? Can someone give me a step-by-step way to do a track day. Please bear with me and remember I'm a little slow because I had too many high lifes. Thanks in advance.

It depends on the track and the particular track day hosting organization. At MTC, we require tires in new or near nwe condition, proper tire pressure for the conditions, bike mechanically sound with no loose parts and no leaks, fully operation throttle return, brake pads not excessively worn. Brake/tail lights completely taped or disabled, headlights taped that are not disabled, mirrors removed or disabled. Some other organizations are more strict, and in addition, require replacement of the antifreeze with water (use distilled water and water wetter), taping of the speedometer, and very limited safety wiring, usually of the oil filter.
