Mcook, You are right, Brands is damn expensive ! Snetterton I have seen this year for £65 !! and Silverstone GP £169 ! If you compare that to Brands GP at £269

I can always find room for a second bike! Better odds than the lottery, too. What bike do you have? The description is a little vague! ron3005, D3LM S, Chuckh, any other UK riders up for it?

Lord Melch

As a veteran of such events... what tyres do you use? I don't mean specific makes/models, but i understand the mega-sticky stuff wouldn't necessarily last 2 days on track without using tyre-warmers to keep them the same temperature all day.

Mcook, Last year I dallied with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's and Pilot Race 2's (Soft and Medium), only because I always used 207rr's until they wore out at Cadwell and the Tyre chap from TT Devpts recomended Sport Cups (he didn't have 207rr's) I needed something I could use on Wet road days and trackdays so the Sport Cups were fine. I switched to Pilot Race when Mark from TTD didn't bring my Sport Cup - twat ;) and then promptly fell off a few track days later - probably more to my not understanding how the tyre wears etc etc.. Now I have 207rr's on as it's cold and they are a great compromise - and there are some cracking deals going on. Never had problems with them - bar a slide at Cadwell, but that was controlled - more by the tyres than me I expect. There is always Track Tyre Developments at each Focused Events day, so tyres on site to try. :D It depends on taste. The current darling(s) of the trackday crew are Pirelli Diablo Corsa, or Metzler Rennsport - both made in the same place, I understand speaking to the Metzler boys.... and no warmers needed. See a prevous post http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=56478&highlight=track+day+tyre Ummm, fresh rubber, prepped R1, full Silverstone F1 to play on for TWO DAYS :D :D :D :thumbup Get this sorry Schumacher, can't come on the bike boys have two days of play time.... Let the good times roll...

OK tyres again is it ?? My understanding is Diablo corsas are the road biased versions of Supercorsas. If you intend to run on the track and NOT on the road then supers have to be the choise ??? I use my tyres for i day only I ALLWAYS use warmers !! Melchy mich pilot race are IMHO crap!!!! you seem to have to work the bastard things very hard to get em working Dunlop RRS are road tyres nothing more or less I allways think that its better to spend more on tyres than repairs to the bike TOP TIP use your tyres for 1 day then sell em on EBAY as take offs, Recently saw a pair of supers (part worn take offs ) make £90 !!!!! im paying £155 plus vat for a pair of supers so if i can get only £70 back for the part worns then job sorted!! ONE last thing supers and rensports are identical in compound carcass contruction ect only difference is the grove pattern DIABLOS are a different tyre alltogether:boom

Chuckh, Cool to see you there. I'm on 207rr's as it's still pretty cold. See what I need when it warms up (for road and track).
