Carlos Mion Memorial Ride: 2/29/04

Carlos' widow Cindy Mion has confirmed Sunday, February 29th for the memorial ride. Please remember that is all extremely difficult and emotional for her. If she is unable to do this she wants the ride to go on as scheduled anyway. She appreciates what everyone is doing but it is nonetheless very hard for her. If she is unable to attend she wants everyone to understand that. Her wishes are that all the bikes proceed out to before her. She prefers to head out separately and meet up the site where Carlos has the accident ending his life. She feels it would be fitting if Pornstr, Beafer, Moto, Downsouth and that crew head this up and organize the ride. Maybe leaving Miami about 8:30 or 9:00? I would appreciate it if you guys could pick this thread up from here and organize the ride, meeting points, eta at the site for people going directly there from the west coast and so forth. I rather doubt Cindy will be able to say much once there but it might be a good idea if someone could do a quick little service or have someone who knew Carlos well say a word. Cindy has specifically requested no excessive speed, wheelies or stunting. If everyone proceeds on from the site for a lake ride or something she will not have the heart to go along on that and again dose not want anyone to feel she is dissing us. I have asked Cindy to monitor this thread and am quite sure she will do so. Please feel free to post a message to her if you like. She may not respond but she will see it. Thank You

Good point. I may not be here. Depends on wether or not my buddy goes.....free room and board that way.

I'm in. Carlos was good people and for the short time I knew him, he was a friend.

Scarab thanks for doing the leg work on the ride. Now there aren't any doubts regarding the integrity of the information. Prnstar, Beefer, Emilio, downsouth, what is everyones schedule and someone needs to set times, routes etc.

Thanks for posting this scarab. I will not be able to make this ride. I will be working this weekend, sorry. What bothers me is why is this ride so much harder to setup then the one that was on that unfortunate day. :(

She should just be happy out of respect to carlos and his family WE would invite her. She knows exactly was she is doing and it's in a deceitful way. I think this ride should have been done along time ago aswell.

Are not many people going to Daytona this weekend? Or is the 29th the anniversary? I had planned on going up north but would like to do this also.

The ride is off for Sunday. Lack of participation or support. If you guys ever organize a ride let me know.

Shortly I will organize something and will consult with everyone for a good date and time...

we were saying talking about having it earlier and there still isn't a date. know they want ed to have it on the anninersery but i don't think it lands on a weekend.
