Yes or No? Do you like the look of white lettering on the tires. I stenciled my Dunlop's on the R1 and I think it looks sweet.

I thought about yellow because my Champ LTD symbol is in yellow. They also have the yellow NASCAR tires you can by for your car now. george 10-18-2001, 02:54 AM I think white lettering on tyres looks crap. You might as well have a strip across the screen saying KEVIN&TRACY and a pair of furry dice hanging from each handlebar end. Mattias1 10-18-2001, 04:21 AM Swedie, I still have your front tire with painted text on it lying around in the garage... Do you want it back? :) Swedie 10-18-2001, 06:14 AM Nah! For what? .. :D
I can cut out rubber balls and use for.. err.. no.. i have absolutely no idea what to use it for. HEHE! Mattias1 10-18-2001, 06:23 AM You could stare longingly at it and remember your happier times. Or I could just throw it away. Dank 10-18-2001, 01:04 PM What do ya all think of Mirrors and Blinkers, if ya ask me , they look like ****. its like having pearl handled pistols.....

What is better - gloss white or flat white? Also what size pen is best? medium nib or fine??
I saw them today but didn't buy one since I wasn't sure what was best.
It pathetic having to do 'something' with my bike as it sits up on stands!!
:bs R1_CR 12-23-2001, 02:26 AM I just saw these at Lockhart Phillips's website. I'm keeping my tires stock for now.

 u must ride a vespa Ronin R1 08-20-2003, 11:06 PM If you are going to do it, just get a color you like (flat looks best IMO). Also get the finest point you can. And at all cost, stay away from the LP pens, they suck and are way overpriced. It will not come off, but you will have to clean frequently because it will get dirty from brake dust and road grime. But it does look sweet! THE MUFFIN MAN 08-21-2003, 06:15 AM i used the lockhart pen and it kept needing a retouch every couple of days. then it started to flake. i love the look but can't find anything that will stay on. it is a pain in the ass to have to do over and over. why don't the tire mans make them that way?i see some race teams with lettered tires, are they sold anywhere? rich03R1 08-21-2003, 07:22 AM Go to Walmart in the arts & crafts section they have paint pens there for around $3.They last and they have many diffetent colors and sizes. The first time you might have to put on 2 coats, after that just touch it up now and then. | |
