Yep, I've been there. I did 2 track days last season, one at pocono east (1.5 mile 14 turns I believe), and Pocono FUSA (2.5 mile 16 turns I believe), they are a lot of fun and totally worth it. The group I go with is www.nysportbikeclub.com we run during the week which is a little less crowded and u get plenty of track time. If weekends are your thing, www.teampromotion.com is pretty good club. The track is the R1's home environment and the bike is amazing!

Pocono is the motocross of road racing. Better get your suspension dialed in real good. The bumps are so bad, we call them whoops and table tops.:D Plus there are nasty barriers in some precarious positions.:(

I'm hoping to get to VIR, Beaverun, Summit Main sooner or later. Honestly, I think for beginner track riders, pocono is not that bad, obviously as u get faster and faster, riders would probably want smooth pavement. My concern is I will like VIR or Beaverun so much that I'll be traveling to these tracks all the time.:lol

I just came back from Barber, 930 miles one way and I'll tell you, it is worth it.:thumbup

I've done a few track days with teampromotion over the last few years. The last one I did was the east course. THey do a few different configurations with the FUSA course being my favorite. Im just checking their site it looks like their doing someting new with a 3.3 mile track. check out this (http://www.teampromotion.com/tpm.php?page_id=feature_042104) for some info on the new course. team promotion runs a pretty good school and I've had no problems so far with the way they do things. Im looking to do a few track days this season. If your going to push it - the track is the only place

Hobbes is correct it will be ama quality, however I have talked to the owner a few times now and this track is suppose to be fim spec and moto gp spec... they plan on a having hotels at the track, golf course, med center.. This track will be no joke if they do what they say they are doing. They have had problems with permits and drainage thats been the major hold up, but they said that it would be under heavy construction starting spring of 2004. If everything goes as planned it will be rideable for the 2005 season... Keep your fingers crossed

Well it looks as if the motogp will be coming to the states either at laguna and or barber and rausch creek which plans to be a strong contender to support motogp, I think this sport is gonna do nothing but grow fast and explode.. Can't wait

Eman

Rausch Creek has been in construction since 2000 I think. Is this thing ever going to get done? I understand u spoke to the owners, but these same issues have been there since day one.

Yes I agree with you it has been awhile and i myself thought man wtf is taking so long. They had problems with drainage and permits thats what has been the hold up plus the guy who was in charge of it was stumbling over himself from what i am told the new guy they have in place now is of much better quality. I can only hope they let her rip from here out. Permits and drainage is a go now, they are getting the construction crew to put up the buildings. so we will see... We were told by one of the guys who is gonna be on the medical crew that theres was plans to put in a mini airport as well. Thats not confirmed tho But I will be talking to them up there next week prolly.. I will keep everyone informed.

Last summer I did 5 or 6 track days at Pocono East with Team ProMotion... It's an awesome course :fact and Team ProMotion and the riders you meet are even better! TPM has motion money... You go and work the corner for a day for 100 motion bucks (or 75 cash) then u can use that to pay for trackdays. Shoot me out a PM if I can elaborate anything 4 u. BTW, I know a few guys who will be going up this year... You should hook up with them. It's easier to go with someone who knows the ropes... But don't hesitate to go by yourself either. Later, Nate
