I was thinking the same thing just the other day. I am up for it. Also, we will get to do RA in a couple of months. I am anxious about getting out there on my Supercorsas.
I dont blame you , those are great tires , scrub them in and let them heat up each session ! As if you dont know :lol
Gawarrior 03-21-2004, 08:39 PM I will :thumbup Hopefully it won't be too cooll saturday am for the first session. I will just have to make sure I get the temp up on them. I am really excited about using them. I am probably gonna feel like I am going to fall over at first on them, going from street tires:lol I make take a short ride around the block to get a little feel for them before saturday. Can't go far though, the bike is ready for the track and I don't need any tickets.

hershell 03-21-2004, 08:57 PM hey chad are you staying out there friday night?
Gawarrior 03-21-2004, 09:10 PM Nah, I am going to ride over Saturday morning. It is only about 1.5 hours from my house and with the hour difference in time it isn't too bad from me to just get up early and drive over. I am meeting another guy from the forum somewhere on I-20 on the way. He is from atlanta too and this is his first trackday also. Not sure of which exit we are gonna meet at yet though.
hershell 03-21-2004, 09:18 PM think i'll leave saturday morning also. just making sure there wasn't a big party. hate to miss out.

Yep, the museum is simply awesome. One of the sweetest collection of bikes you will ever see. Not all bikes are even on display either, simply too many. I went to the museum last october.
The track is awesome too. I'll be there participating for the second time in my BMW M3 with the Alabama PCA next month. I really want to take my bike there too, most likely with Kieth Code School first.

It'll feel like an R6 on stock rubber, but with bubble gum grip

Bill, you got that right. I will set up on the lower level too. Don't you have an easy up? If so, you think I might could share some shade with you?:D
I will be looking for you. Looks like I will be coming over with my buddy on Friday too. He is doing the free intro course. But I will ride saturday.
rabidsquirrel 03-24-2004, 06:35 AM Anyone been to Barber's since the resurfacing? I read that Bostrom said he thinks it's slower now...
Your thoughts?
Gawarrior 03-24-2004, 11:22 AM Interesting. I am curious to see how it is now. I did hear that coming in to the back straightway the new track is a bit bumpy. Just have to see on Saturday.

The contractor they used SUCKS! The paving is a total disappointment. They had so many waves and ripples, some so bad they had to grind the tabletops off to make them less wavy, that you could feel chatter problems under braking. Despite that, it is still better than almost all other race tracks east of the Mississippi. Not so terrible that you don't want to ride it, but definitely a letdown.
After anticipating a billiard table smooth track on par with the european venues, this was not to be.:no
