The feeling's way different... it definitely doesn't come up as easy as sitting, obviously... also the r1 tank has got to be the most uncomfortable and awkward (my buddy's gix750 and 900rr tanks felt like couches compared to mine). The r1 handlebars are really close and low too!!! 1st few times sucked... i either hit my knees off the bar ends or fell back on the seat mid-wheelie, but after a while it was just another wheelie:bandit

We were just gett'n started around that time. I can't lie, I personally have only gotten slightly better, I can ride the 02 in first at about 30. The other guys switched to gsx-r 600's and 636's and are doing a hell of a lot better. Still no circles or anything like that. And yes you are absolutely correct TANK HUMPING = GARBAGE (100+MPH) WHEELIES. haha i was jus ****ing around..... looks like you guys are pretty good.... but you gotta "hang out" on your wheelies..... looks like you guys are all humping your tanks ;) jahahaaa balances wayyyy easier when your "off the bike" more....

Those short f$ckers have an advantage!! I dont do the rear pegs standing wheelie like your boy. One of my friends broke a rear peg while standing on it at about 50 mph. His crash was ugly. Bike cartwheeled, he was ok (had good gear on) but needless to say I decided the rear pegs werent strong enough in stock format anyway..... Yeah the shorties also weigh less and seem to go faster cause the bike isnt working so hard. If only I weighed 125 pds. I'd go pro......:flex: Yeah right! :lol

He ditched the 99 R1 for an 04 GSX-R 600.

I guess I just havent gotten the courage to try the rear peg thing after watching my boy eat it. I might again sometime soon. If I do I'll be sure to post it!

Those rims were pricey cause they are billet machined not dipped. Like I say I try to look good if nothing else! :lol I got some video of me riding wheelies around Japan! Your bike end up looking like my last 929RR.. hehe not fun.yeah i know...thats something ive never been good at is keeping my foot over the brake. my legs are super long so it angles my foot really far down when my legs are up on the pegs. i had only had the bike for a week when that pic was taken and since then i lowered the brake lever...but i do need to work on that cuz ive been finding my self holding em up a lot higher lately. but it still feels safe. the drag from the engine seems to be very effective as a brake...and just easing off the throttle when its that high seems to work well. but sorry that happened to you bro. that sucks

Sorry.......:ridingyes im very fortunate to have a gf that lets me ride how i wanna ride when she's on. and i know im showing wheelie pics but i am VERY safe with her on there...i would never push it anywhere near my riding limits with her on. my friends get the kidney shots from their gf's if the wheel comes off the ground an inch. it may be because my gf rides so she understands more? im not sure but she's an awesome passenger. i had never shown her the balance point before and yesterday we did about a half mile wheelie keeping it in the balance point and that was the first time she ever said anything about being a "little" worried. 80deg there? i wish. we had some uncommonly warm weather here all weekend. it was a nice treat to get out one last time before the season ends. man, i gotta move lol.
