What the hell did you do to your sig man. It's all big and out of shape, and grainy as hell too? Surely you could have done better, I know your skill. And damn man, when did you move to the Jersey Shore? I was with AX-O figuring we called all hit Streets next week, but that would be a hell of a trip with you all the way on the "Joyzee" Shore.;)

Day in and day out! It is amazing! It looks like some of Rossi's refinements are making their way into Checa's bike - he seems a lot faster than last year. (Of course, in 2002 - Checa was tough.) George P. Buono 04-03-2004, 11:09 AM Originally posted by JosipZ

Can't wait for the first race !!:jump :jump It's going to be good !!! #46 04-30-2004, 10:37 PM Rossi broke the lap record in QP1 by 1.1 sec setting a best lap time of 1:40.818
Gibernau 2nd 1:41.198
Checa 3rd 1:41.427
Biaggi 4th 1:41.546 Gknight 05-01-2004, 02:44 PM Rossi is impressive. He only got better because Mick Doohan coached him from the Honda Factory. Now he's onto Yamaha and used what he learned to get even better. Too bad Doohan is not racing anymore. It'll be interesting to see if Rossi could dethrone the King. nee.dragger 05-03-2004, 10:08 AM Originally posted by Gknight

He wasn't too impressive this past weekend, over 20 seconds behind the winner, Sete, and his bitter rival, Biaggi! twothousandgt 05-05-2004, 06:36 PM Originally posted by nee.dragger

Nevermind that the race was in the wet. You may want to review the 2003 race at Le Mans and the 2003 Catalunya GP :fact nee.dragger 05-06-2004, 10:17 AM Originally posted by twothousandgt

Correct, that's my point. It shouldn't matter if it's wet or dry, if he's such a great rider, he should have been up front with Sete and Max. At that level, the riders are all impressive. Now it comes down to the manufacturer building the right bike and your team setting up the bike for the track. twothousandgt 05-06-2004, 12:43 PM It's no secret that the honda machines outgun the M1 hands down. Why would you expect a slower bike to win when conditions dictate a relatively fixed speed around the track? He had no opportunity to push the bike to anywhere near it's limits, which is what he's is going to have to do if he wants to win. We saw it in South Africa, one of the slowest courses on the calander, where topend didn't mean much. Rossi barely had enough to fend off Biaggi's Honda and what he did was all "skill". When they get to faster tracks such as Catalunya and especially Mugello, I think we will see Rossi being left by the Ducatis and Hondas. That is unless Yamaha can add some speed to the M1, fast (no pun intended).
If you watch the 2003 Le Mans race, which was partially in the wet, you will see what Rossi can do with equal equipment. And I'm talking about the race itself, not the last corner.
My point is, Rossi is without question the best rider the sport has ever seen. His M1 is slower then the Hondas, and that is not his fault anymore then the guys in Japan. I don't see you criticizing Yamaha for giving him an inferior machine... Southern118 05-06-2004, 03:01 PM if you look at some data the m1 is faster then the honda but the honda carries more speed in the corner is where they are making most of there time and yes rossi is a very very very skilled rider twothousandgt 05-06-2004, 03:08 PM Originally posted by southern118

If Rossi isn't even in the top 5 for max speed, then where is he making all this time up?
Please post your data... :fact Southern118 05-06-2004, 08:40 PM it was in sport rider showing that the ducatti and the m1 where at the top of the top speed but showed that teh honda was caring more speed if my issue is here at school i will scan and post if not you will have to wait until monday twothousandgt 05-06-2004, 08:55 PM So what your saying now is Sport Rider is more authoritative than actual MotoGP results? Southern118 05-06-2004, 09:18 PM no not what im saying im saying that the ducatti and m1 where faster but the info you are showing is from a certain track the top speed of the m1 and ducatti are higher but the honda carries more speed into the corner so they have more momentum before tehy even accerlarte. Southern118 05-06-2004, 09:23 PM the ducatti was the fastest if you just want to go by one lap
http://motogp.tiscali.com/en/motogp/results/results.htm Southern118 05-06-2004, 09:25 PM and go to others and go for teh event maxium speed there LINK80Reid 05-06-2004, 11:01 PM Are you drunk Southern??? The top speed of the ducati and honda are far greater than the M1. The m1 comes in 11th I think in top speed.
and go to others and go for teh event maxium speed there
Put down the moonshine, I cant tell what your trying to say. twothousandgt 05-06-2004, 11:10 PM I posted the maximum recorded trap speeds from both races this season during both qualifying sessions and the race itself. The only M1 that made it into the top 5 was Melandri during the second qualifying session at Jerez.
Lap time means nothing in this discussion. Unless you want to compare highest average speeds, but that's not what I was talking about. I thought we were debating the fact that the Honda and Ducati machines have the Yamaha beat on top speed. | |
