I have been looking for replacement bars for my 2002 R1. I don't do a lot of track riding and are rarely in "full tuck" position so I have been looking for replacement bars to offer a more upright seating position. This is all an effort to reduce the stress on my wristst and back on long rides. So far I've found these 2 websites and I'm wondering if anyone has either of these installed? if so, what are your opinions of them vs. stock? www.rbars.com (http://www.scaryfastracing.net/why.html) and also HeliBars for R1 (http://www.helibars.com/pics/yamaha/r1.html)

I had the Gilles Variobars on my '02, they changed angles but didn't really get closer to you. They do sell risers for those bars in 10mm increments though. They were great quality, easy to install and easy adjustments. Might wanna check them out.

They are in Ohio, and supply coupons for custom cable extension (nice feature) service :thumbup Link: http://www.cyclecat.com/home.htm

I just installed ConvertiBars on my R1. The adjust from below stock height to plus 5" and move back, also. If I could only upload pics. MotoEd

Does anyone have any pictures of any of these actually mounted on the bike? I was looking at my stock bars and all of these seem like they will definitely do the job.

If you try the R-BARS let me know how they work out for you. The Heli-bars sound good but no anti vibration system. I am working on a local aftermarket dealer to start selling R-BARS so I can get them at a discount.
