Ok for those of you that have a damper, any damper, you know what I'm about to say already. I just put the Scotts on today, and came back from a 2 hour ride. Just though to share the difference in the bike since I just put it through it's paces. 1- High speed acceleration: Before when I would get up high in the triple digits, the bike would be very unstable. I would really know I was moving at 150 mph+ and would usually shut it down because of the headshake. Today I was following a friend, and we started to just roll the throttle. I felt pretty good and looked down at the speedo, WHOA, 179mph... It felt like I was going fast because of the wind but the bike felt like it was doing 75. Very nice indeed. 2- Twisties: You all know the advantages of a damper in this area. Yes, the bike was very stable. However, the part that really was cool was I was in a section of about 10 turns. After the 2nd turn I felt the bars were a little too tight so in transition I just reached down and clicked the knob 2 clicks softer. Sweet. Talk about on the fly adjustability. Very good. 3-Wheelies: I have basically stopped doing wheelies for the most part, because tires are expensive, I hate getting the flat spot, and I dont like punishing the front end. But in the best interest of this test, I forced myself to pick the bike up:D :D Anyways, before I could ride a 1st gear wheelie all the way out, and hold a 2nd gear wheelie for a few seconds. The clip ons would always move around and I would set the bike down. OK, for all you guys that are trying to do 2nd/3rd gear wheelies, a damper is the missing piece to your puzzle. I turned the knob 2 clicks harder and pulled a 2nd gear wheelie and rode that joker 4 ever. I even got a half stand up in there. With a damper you can pull on the clip ons as hard as you want and the bike will come up straight. You can hold it there at the balance point rock steady. Shifting to 3rd no prob either. Awesome. WEll, this is basically my little eval. Your results might differ, but before you spend that $800 on a full exhaust.... You might want to consider the slip on and a damper. Just in my opinion. It is WELL worth it!:thumbup :thumbup
