2 yamahas on the front row. Checa 1.33.575 and Rossi 1.33.668 Biaggi was second with a 1.33.579 I hope the race tomorrow will be just as close.

my mistake, Rossi will be on the second row not the first row as I originately thought. 1 Gibernau 1:33.425 2 Checa 1:33.575 3 Biaggi 1:33.579 4 Rossi 1:33.668

I'm surprised at Checa's performance

yeah I was surprised too, the race is something else though. I hope the 2 yamahas will have a good pace to keep in touch with the hondas, the qualifying was extremely close I thought.

not knowing the fact that Gibernau was sick I guess we took his performance as granted since he did actually win the last gp in Jerez. Checa's performance though was unexpected because lets face it since Rossi joined the yamaha team he was outperformed at each granprix by his own team mate.

tomorrow yes.....or today if you are in Europe.

Rossi? yes in Welkom and Jerez, that"s why I think Checas performance is definitely an improvement. Rossi showed the yamaha is not as far behind the Honda as everybody thought, we'll see tomorrow how the race goes....hopefully it will be entertaining.

Any bets gentlemen?? Cold track, temp is only gonna be 73F, but no chance of rain. The Dunlop corner is the fastest in MotoGP which may favor the Hondas. As mentioned above, Sete is sick. I was expecting more from Rossi in QP2, but it's still less than a quarter second gap. Checa is fast, but he has problems with consitencey, so I wouldn't pin him as the winner. I dunno fellas, it looks to be a darn fine race. I hate to say it, but I'll put the money on Biaggi to win. I hope Rossi proves me wrong... :riding :corn

ah just watched the race, nice performance from the Yamahas. It does look like they will need some extra horsepower to close the gap in the straights and under acceleration. Definitely nothing wrong with the handling though. Mugello next I guess.....I hope they can get the extra horsepower quick lol. I was a bit disappointed to see that Speed does not offer the race 2 from Monza WSC but I guess we should not ask too much from them we already get all this great coverage of everything that turns in circles......
