Did you buy your bike Greg based on what a magazine said. I hope not. When i brought my bike there were people who said that i should wait as the next generation of bikes are going to be better. If you adapt that theory then you will never buy a new bike as they progress quite fast. I brought a gixxer because it was the best bike for me, pretty easy hey. Incidently it won all that came before it but that was last year and a year in bikes alot of shit changes. The 04 gixxer remains unchanged this year and it still can hold its own against these bikes. It says a lot of the bike as it was a formidable opponent(and still is). Anyway the 999s is still the best bike yet.:lol

As I have said in a previous thread.... wait untill Australian Motorcycle News does their comparison in the current issue which was ot Friday in the Eastern southern states.
IMO they have more of a sport bike orientation and hence more credibilty

Not just the big jap 4 , but the MV Augusta F4 750 SPR, Benelli Tornado RS, Triumph Daytona, Aprilia RSV 1000R, 999, SP2

As much as I often joke around and be a lil smart a$$ towards Troy*UWISHR1* and other Gixxer riders-as some of the Melb riders know it was a very close decission when I opt for my R1 over a gixxer 1000.

While its awesome news that the R1 has been taking out the awards/reviews so far this year-personally I think you have to give credit were its due. Suzuki has been able to produce an award winning package for the past few years,so hats off to them for their great achievements:yesnod

As Troy did when he bought his Gixxer,and as I did when I went for my R1-go for WHAT YOU WANT based on your preferences and not based on what wins the most reviews and what other people think. No doubt its helpfull having others opinions and reccomendations when purchacin a bike(or car,boat etc etc),but at the end of the day its YOU thats handing over that hard earned cash-so gofor what YOU want:fact

For the record,if I were to choose a new bike*and as Ive said before*it would no doubt be the new CBR 1000-as thats my fav bike to come out this year. This is based on my personal preferance and not based on any review:D

No matter what bike you ride,the main thing is that we ALL share one thing in common-getting enjoyment out of our bikes.

I think he is referring to a test in an Australian magazine called two wheels.They had all 4 Jap 1000's,a 999 Duke,an MV Augusta SPR,a Benelli tornado RS, a Triumph Daytona 955i,an Aprillia RSV1000R and an SP2.

They also had Kevin Magee and Andrew Pitt as guest testers as well as the usual journo's.According to these guys the R1 is head and shoulders above all the rest.And to quote a phrase used to sum up the test....."Ten superbikes to compare and one clear winner?Yes the R1 is that good.

So obviously Greg(blur1)has just read the test and got all:jump .

I'm of the opinion that it's not what you ride but how you ride it.And if you like a bike and you are happy with it for what ever reason(looks,colours,performance,brand name on the tank...etc)then it doesn't matter what other people think.

I also don't mind a little tongue in cheek,my bike is better than your bike banter.But like you say some things tire quickly and this particular topic is well and truly past it's use by date.

I second that - all the current litre bikes are great - and I think the gap between them all regarding performance and handling is very small!
