Puig Windscreens

Thanks to Cape Fear Motorcycles ( www.capefearmotorcycles.com ) for providing the products for this review. The screens arrived to us in a protective bag with the familiar PUIG logos on them. We sampled the following models. 04 R1 Red 04 R1 Blue 02/03 R1 Dark Smoke :thumbup The screens installation is extremely simple.. Remove the black rubber grommets from the stock screen and insert them into the pre-drilled holes on the PUIG screen and use the stock bolts and your set.. :) The fit and finish of these screens are incredible.. As you can see from the pictures the red and blue screen almost have an iridium like glow to them. The look on all of them is incredible.... Wind protection is right up there with what you'd expect with a double bubble screen and the clarity of the screens is SUPERB. These are top quality pieces. Attachted throughout this thread will be misc. pictures of forum member's PUIG and one's that we took from our shop bike. Next week when our shop bike is completed we'll do a review of the blue tinted PUIG... Hey whats up guys? Hey spidermanss I also have an 04 red R-1 and wondering what other websites do you know where I can find some cool aftermarket products for my bike? I know Targa used my R-1 for measurements for their fender eliminator kit, balf bra and seat cowl. Dave from Targa did a good job with the seat cowl I get alot of guys complmenting my bike for being the firsdt in my area to get all of these goodies. But buying accesories is like buying crack to me I want to buy more. I just bought the red metallic shield and the red film strip that goes on headlights. I am going to have someone paint some wicked eyes on the red film. Het me up

Here is a pic of my R-1 with a zero gravity double bubble screen along with my red mesh film I put on my headlights. I got these goodies from tobefast.com (thanks Shane) Gimme feedback guys. i am looking to paint some wicked eyeballs on ther headlights and seeing if someone could make some horns so i can take off the mirrors (they are useless unlkess i wanna see my shoulders)

Oh yea! the red and blue! :thumbup Looks great! Those Wave rotors rock. Are they as effective as stock? How effective are the bar end mirrors?

Makes me wish they had done the '04 in the Limited Edition black with red flames.

Hey spidey with your connections do you know anyone that could make or has some devil horns to put on my bike. I already took stock mirrors off. Now I wanna put the horns on. Can you point me in the right direction.

Does the dark smoke have the "R" logo on it. I cannot see it any of the pics. I like the look on the PUIG screens. Anybody have a closeup pic if the front of the dark smoke. Don't like the red looks too light for the color of the bike.

i just got the dark smoke and it doesn't have the "R" logo on it.

Just mounted the dark smoke Puig to my 04 R1. McCoys did a great job packing and shipping was quick. I also mounted the cox radiator guard without a problem. Fit and finish is good, optics aren't the greatest, but hey I didn't expect to see super clear through dark smoke tint. Scale rating 1-10, I give the puig a 9 since nothing in this world is perfect hehehe! Thanks McCoys, my baby is looking better everyday.............

I got a few from the first day I had the bike, nothing is on the bike yet in this pic, screen, sliders etc..........The dealer had the slip-ons already installed when I bought the bike, there pretty cool. I have no complaints so far, they sound and look good. Here is another pic..........

NICE! :rock I was going to get those pipes, but I didnt cuz of the spider web effect. Does ur'z look like they are cracking when the cans get HOT?

Cracking when hot? Like the heat is causing the color of the pipes to bleed and web? Hmmmm I havn't noticed, I'll check it out when I slow down LOL! I wonder if this cracking effect is more evident when the packing gets thin over time? So far they look sweet, nothing out of the ordinary as of yet...

Everyone on this forum that own the Micron fusions, said that when the pipes get hot, it looks like the finish is cracking (spider web effect). They say that it goes away once the pipes cool down. They also said that the color of the cans fade too. I dont know about the blue and blk, but a couple of guys with the red and blk said that their cans turned pink after several months... But I still think they look friggin sweeet! Nice bike bro!

I've got one for my bike but it's not exactly stock paint anymore.. lmao... We've sold at least 30 blue 04's so there are some floating around :fact

Is the "R" logo on the smoke windscreen a sticker that can be removed? Or is it a part of the fade from dark to light sticker?

It's a part of the screen.. Not a sticker..

damn 75-80 normal price i should've picked up one at laguna seca they were going for 60 w/ free shipping for that weekend and the week after...ohh well there's always next year
