Decided it's time to test my skills on the quarter mile.......
:crash

any tips?

any suggestions for calming the pre-stage butterflies???

I'm assuming I should be pretty much hunched over the bars and be careful not to over gas from first...

i warm up the tire a little (don't get it wet) and let it spin some as i launch the bike. you will wheelie some (but don't want much of one) and the tire will spin some but it has worked for me so far. i am always nervous a little the first time every time and then i am fine. try lining up next to a friend if that is an option at the track you are going to. i would say let it rip when you see the last yellow light on the tree. my reaction times are not perfect but they seem to be consistant with most people and my et and speeds are usually higher than most..so i feel i must be doing something right. good luck and post some times...all i can say is that drag racing is addictive and very fun. i use it most for tuning and for self challange (and to spank a few people -and be spanked by some) i am not serious compared to some...just go and have a good time and you will get faster each time-- believe that!

try holding the rpm at 8000 on the line and when the last yellow comes on start slipping the clutch as you bring it up to full throttle. if youre too fast letting the clutch out itll wheelie big time if youre too slow the 60 ft time will suffer. good luck and have fun. i was getting 2.0 60ft times trying to ride it off the line and 1.8 just by slipping the clutch a bit.
