No doubt. SOme of the closest racing I've seen in a long time. It's nice to see another bike other than Honda all of the time. Hey45, where on the "first coast" are you? St Augustine, Jax, ?

Ordinarily, I don't have a problem with Sete, but did anybody else notice ol jerkface put his lid on the first place podium right next to Rossi's? Or read his comment about how he felt he won the race because he had the top Honda and gave 120%? Call me an ass, but if I was Rossi, I don't think I woulda been able to ignore the guy's helmet on MY top spot. Especially after running such a clean race. Or am I seeing an underhanded insult where none exists?

I posted pretty much the same thing in another thread. He was such a puss about coming in second. It's not enough that the guy is first in points, or that he's won two races this year, or that he still had a podium finish, or even that he has as many fans today as he did before the race. He just got humbled and is a sore loser because he came in second in front of his home crowd.

"I said that tyre wear would be the big factor," said Sete. "And we knew that the Yamaha had better traction so I used a slightly harder tyre. Yamaha has done a good job here - no other Hondas were close to me. There's only one winner here and that's Vale so congratulations to him." Sete Gibernau, Telefonica MoviStar Honda, 2nd : "I tried to play my cards well again today and we did the best we could with what we had. We knew we couldn't use the same tyre as Yamaha and used a softer compound to try and have the same traction that they would have with the harder one. Obviously that meant that at the halfway stage their tyres would improve whilst mine deteriorated. I don't want to give any excuses, I never have done, and I have to congratulate Valentino although I knew this could happen even though I gave 120%. I hope to keep going on the same path, have a chat with Honda about how we can improve the situation and do everything I can to make them understand that we have to face up to Valentino and Yamaha, who are improving a lot. I don't feel as thoughI lost today - as far as I am concerned we have won because I am getting 100% out of what I have at every race". in both quotes i could find he congratulated Val both times. and as far as the podium, :dunno is it a big deal to where you put your helmet? didn't seem like Val gave 2 sh1ts about it.

I really wasn't refering to his comments, as much as I was refering to his actions. Watch him on the podium and after the race. From the way he walked out to the podium, to receiving the trophy, to spraying the champagne. His facial expressions speak volumes. He just appears to be pouting like my 2 year old. I'll admit that I'm a Rossi fan and have been since his 250 days when he first started, and I'm a Biaggi fan as well, although he's another one that seems less than grateful when he doesn't win. I personally just don't think he carried himself all that well for where he's at.

You're right, it is opinion and in all honesty I dont' think he's a bad guy. I think he was disappointed that he didn't win in front of the home crowd and I'm sure a lot of it was also that he wanted to put more of a cushion between him and Rossi in the points. I'm sure he's sweatin it about now knowing that if Rossi wins the next one that he'll take the lead. I definately think there was a "different" Sete on the second place podium as opposed to when he wins. I mean Melandri came in third and although it was his first big finish, you'd have thought he'd won the damn thing. Sete shows that when he wins, but shows an entirely different side of himself when he doesn't. Sure it's disappointment to some respect, but the fans want to see exuberance when their rider is on the podium and I don't feel he showed that.

I can recall a couple of times last season when Rossi lost three in a row. He wasn't very happy in second so don't be so hard on Sete. I guess once you have the taste for first place your not to happy with second and I'm sure that's even worse when it's you home GP! Sete is doing great this year and if he's consistent the rest of the season he will win. :D
